Liqui Molly?

I have a 2013 Expedition, 5.4 with no discernable issues, yet.
95k, and just put 4.8k of that on in the last four weeks towing my camper.
My question is about Liquimolly. A mechanic friend says I might want to try it for its flushing properties and that apparently now they make a synthetic oil as well. Thoughts? TIA

No such thing as a mechanic in a can imo. Flushing an engine with 95K is not a good idea, again imo.

Just use a good quality, proper viscosity oil along with a good (Motorcraft) filter. No additional stuff needed....nothing "Magical" required.
For info, I recently purchased a 2019 with 112,000 miles on it and have towed our 7000 lb travel trailer over 2500 miles already....using just oil/filter change.
Would NEVER consider using "Stuff In A Bottle" as an additive.

Engines build up carbon over a period time. Internal parts wear over time. Piston rings seat over a period of time. Flushing may cause a loosening of carbon and other stuff that will run through the engine likely getting into and blocking oil passages, screens. A piston ring may unseat. I've seen it happen a number of times. But if you think "flushing" is a good idea by all means go for it. As for myself I wouldn't touch it.

I wouldn't do a traditional solvent motor-flush but I think your mechanic is talking about LiqMolly Pro-Line Engine Flush which I also would not use, unless previous oil changes were severely neglected.
I have a 2003 2V 5.4 which is a similar beast with 230K mi. Awhile back I bought 12 Super-Tech filters online, and I use the 5Qt. Castrol Edge 5W-20 oil. I hardly ever exceed 5000 miles between oil changes. I add appx 1/2 a can of Liqui-Moly Hydraulic Lifter Additive #20004, 2/3 cup Marvel mystery oil and 1/2 cup Lucas oil stabilizer to top off my 6Qt crankcase. The mix viscosity is only negligibly thicker than running straight 5W-20. IMO the mystery oil and lifter moly continuously clean and prevent engine deposits from accumulating and also treat the top end. The Lucas coats the chains, adjusters and gears. You have relatively low miles so you could try this mix but you always just go back to straight oil changes if your engine doesn't run smoother, quieter and / or get improved MPG. Good luck. HB

Back in the fifties and sixties I would add Molyslip to my engine oils on my air cooled motorcycles, Norton, Vincent, AJS, BSA , the the test I saw, convinced me. I have never thought to add it it to an air cooled engine.

Well.. to me it seems that all of these mechanics in a can have tests that have "results" that can say about any thing. Your engine, put it whatever you want. Keeping in mind that the companies who make these engines new or reman. don't recommend any additives that I'm aware of..
