Had to make an emergency 1800 mile round trip in the expy and managed to get my passenger side cargo (third seat area) window shattered.

I pulled over at the next exit and taped it up the best i could. I put a piece of poster board on the inside and plastic on the outside. I even used painters tape so it wouldn't damage the paint job.

BUT... that little trim piece between the cargo window and the rear hatch is all scratched up. The plastic let loose a couple of times and was flapping up against that trim piece.

is there a way to buff out those scratches? is that piece clear coated? I notice that it's rivited to the body, so i assume it's hard to replace. should i just look for a replacement piece at a junkyard?

thanks-

not sure if it was a bullet. i never found one, and my rear tires were even with a semi's rear tires on HWY 55 S...doing about 75mph. i have just assumed that maybe one of his tires kicked up a rock or something.

i got most of the scratches out. i just rubbed really hard with a moist paper towel, but there still are some pretty big dings.
