Hey all. Been a while since I've been here but my 99 is seriously ill and I need help! I love this truck and don't want to have to get rid of it.

1st, I get a pretty rough idle and a bad shudder when I driver it all throughout the speed range. I get a P0301 and I've replaced the O2 sensors, fuel injector, COP,spark plug, cleaned the air filter (K&N) and cleaned the MAF sensor but the shudder remains. What else could it be?

2nd, my damn a/c will not blow cold air. I've tried to add some refrigerant from Autozone to the low side service port but still no cold air.

The A/C will not work when thew Ex is in Limb mode ask me how I know this.
I had a Intake manifold go bad it was leaking coolent on the right rear that made the COP go bad just to start.

Frist I was leaking coolent and it was running down the back of the trans and going on the ground around the front of the dive shaft it a 4X2.

I was driving my other car and when I pulled up from work oneday And seen the coolent under the Ex.

I pulled the intake thinking it was the heater tube that runs down the back engine block valley I did a pressure check on the tube after I pulled the tube out checked good checked all the rubber heater hoses were still good.

I reinstalled the tube put new intake gasket it ran ok for 20 miles then the intake it self started leaking thats when I found out the intake was bad what ruin the COP.

The new gasker set and Coolent that was a waste of $80.00 LOL not so funny LOL.

I purchased a new Dorman Intake $197.00 and a new set of COP $70.00 put the Ex back together still ran rough after the New COP were installed so I swapped one COP at a time with a good know use one from before untill I found the new bad COP.

Now it runs smouth.

Have you took a look at your injectors have the Ex running and pull the plug one at a time see if changes the idel same with the COP oh ya put the plug back on before doing the next plug.

P0301 is cyl 1 misfire.... might be a bad COP... couple good companies on ebay that sell COPs a lot cheaper than dealer or autozone ect... might wanna try changing coil 1 with coil 4 and see if miss follows... the you would know which COP is bad... also which plugs did you use? Our motors are fairly picky and don't like plugs like Boush... usually most people run either OEM motorcraft or autolite double platniums...

I think i might have put in that Boush plug. I'll check to be sure and will try the COP swap as well. Thanks
