    I'm gonna try that.. Would it be ok to drive without the front driveshaft for a short time until I r&r xfer case?

    It's the awd, 4hi, 4 low, version. It's not normal 4 wheel operation, ya know? It binds almost to the point where it doesn't want to move, seems worse in reverse, and is "growling" or deep whining while normal driving

    I have a 1999 Expedition, 4.6. Recently the vehicle started clunking hard and binding during low speed turns. I unplugged the transfer case plug and removed fuse 104, to see if any difference, none. Any ideas? I was thinking transfer case, as the clunking is violent and feels as if it's coming...
