    Sorry to hear that. Something is definitely wrong. Tow my 8500# with my ‘20 XLT HD tow last 500 tow, trans temp 212, coolant didn’t check as gauge no different than without the trailer.

    UPDATE: bearings and races in the differential bad. Poor part quality and build installation leading cause. Complete diff overhaul by dealer under warranty. Butter smooth now.

    Do not get Exoedition with the 5.4L 3-valve abomination of an engine. With 100k+ miles you will need to replace the engine shortly. It has multiple gross deficiencies. There are a multitude of youtube videos from numerous mechanics about how bad this engine is. I second all their info.

    That is also swapping one nightmare for another. That 3V is/was a POS engine. Story after story after story of issues with the abomination of a valve train design for that engine. I had the 2V 275k mi not 1 issue. The 3V let go at 141k just after the phaser, T chain, guides, oil pump etc job...
