    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

If it helps anyone - the coolant crossover pipe is not under the intake manifold running to the back side of the block as in F150s or other (previous) Expeditions. The thermostat housing is quite a bit different than the reference videos I found on youtube (for F150s and (older?) Expeditions)...

2019 Expedition Limited - Dreaded wrench light

I was considering purchasing the extended Ford warranty for my '18 MAX Platinum, which has been a total rolling problem generator. Latest is a leaking water pump and the rear AC evap is leaking refrigerant. But the CSP warranty is super expensive. $100 deductible makes the CSP standard $5832...

Thinking of a 2022/2023 Expedition XLT or Limited

FWIW my 2018 MAX Platinum with 52k miles has been a rolling problem factory. Literally a preposterous number of issues with totally unrelated systems. I guess shame on me for buying first year of a new generation? I don't know how '22s are, or about the TSBs per vehicle sold, but, as a...

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

Speaking of the coolant crossover pipe I've seen in the video I was watching (it's for an F150 and some expeditions I believe). Does the 4th gen not have a crossover pipe from the pump to the back of the block? I can't find it or the o rings, so I'm assuming not? Can anyone verify?

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

Yeah it is disappointing... again. Unfortunately I should have just purchased the extended warranty, but then who knows the game becomes trying to get things covered etc. And the warranty isn't cheap, even with the high deductible. Thanks for the tips I've seen some youtube videos. I guess...

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

I think I've located my problem and I just wanted to give an update in case it helps anyone else troubleshoot a similar problem. First, my initial indication something was wrong was the fan speed (I believe as the OP stated here). I noticed the fan kick up to a much higher speed (and much...

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

As I said... my wife and I both WANT to love this car. It felt initially SO much better than our Gen3 Exp. From the interior roominess, the improved infotainment system, to the drivetrain and improved fuel economy - to Sport mode, which makes the car feel like something way sportier than it...

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

Good advice, I can try to do this. I have to use my buddies garage/lift though, and I just need time to work on it!

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

YUP! Same story with the large company that I worked for that did things cheaply on a global scale (different Industry entirely). Well... cheaply on the front-end!

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

Same exact way I ended up with my '18 Exp! But yeah at this point I'd take some less tech and downsizing just a tad in favor of more reliability. I would even pay more $$ on the front end to save the constant worry and hassle. My wife is always afraid it's going to leave her and the family...

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

Yeah thanks - as an engineer I know that it's not as simple as just saying it's a "lemon" - there is a root cause for each failure. So far it's all been programming/software and faulty components and/or design issues. My favorite was hitting the memory seat preset and having the mirrors start...

    Radiator leak / coolant disappearing

I am having identical symptoms with my 18 Expedition MAX Platinum with 52k miles. I haven't gotten under it yet to see where it's leaking, but I'm losing some each time I drive. My car has had an alarming number of problems and has lived at the dealership. Had the 10A transmission replaced...

2019 Expedition Limited - Dreaded wrench light

Chrissbu - any resolution to this?? My 2018 max platinum w 48k miles just had the identical behavior/messages on the console tonight. Ughh I've had a ton of problems with this vehicle. I'm also in Pittsburgh, ironically! An initial restart and the messages came right back and still it was...

2018 Expedition platinum Max A/C problem

Dealer had it for 2 days just to find it was low on refrigerant/freon/whatever gas it uses. They used a black light and didn't see any leaks anywhere. Evacuated the system, re-filled it with dye, and then re-black lighted it and found no leaks at all. Blowing ice cold gain. Service person...

2018 Expedition platinum Max A/C problem

That's interesting - mine seems like it cools VERY well compared to my 2016. And my 2016's fan was abnormally wildly loud. I even replaced it thinking there had to be something wrong with it, but nope it was crazy loud still. You couldn't even have a conversation in drive through it was so...
