Hey guys...Im going to replace my rear bearings on my 2000 Expedition 4x4 5.4L 3:55LS...
Does anyone use the repair bearings or just use the normal bearings?
I was going to use Timken brand bearings, would that be ok?
I also seen National brand bearings is that as good as Timken bearings...
Ok so I just checked the spark plugs to see if any on them was loose, all are good. I have to change the oil this week and going to take a better look at the exhaust manifold bolts to see if any are missing.
Could the noise be a bad main bearing? What would that sound like?

Also I did replace the plugs in 2009....there only about 6K miles on the plugs.....Ya I dont drive this truck much...
I think I should re torque the plugs.

So on my 2000 Expedition 5.4L 4x4 I just hit 100K miles on it a few weeks ago...it started to make a taping or ticking sound about 2k miles ago Its coming from the engine and I think its the top half....
The noise is louder when the engine is cold and gets quieter when it warms up about 15min...
Thanks everyone for the reply's. How often do you change the belt anyways? Every few years?
Also any difference in the Motorcraft or Goodyear belt?

Ok so this happened twice now and only when its pouring rain. While driving my 2000 Expedition 5.4 I would hear a squealing sound coming from the engine bay and the lights would dim dash lights and every other lights I would have on.
Also it would seem like I would loose engine power...meaning...
OK I really dont listen to AM radio but once in a while I do. So every time the AM radio is on I hear a ticking from the speakers, it happens only when the engine is running and only on AM. This is the weird part I notice that if I have a portable AM radio in the truck I get the same ticking...
