New transmission in 2019 w/70,000 miles

This is my 3rd Expedition. I had a 2002 EB version and a 2013 Limited version. I put 412,000 miles on the 2002 on the original 5.4L and tranny before I let her retire. All I did was the recommended routine maintenance and got every penny out of it. The 2013 had the same 5.4L/tranny, I had...

New transmission in 2019 w/70,000 miles

109,000 miles on my 2019, warranty expired, just paid to have the transmission rebuilt by Ford for ~$7,100. All scheduled maintenance has been performed at my local Ford dealer since I bought it. I had been complaining about shifting issues, weird transmission noises, and loss of power from the...

    LED Interior Lighting

Thanks for the feedback, Cyclone and Chuck! I'll try reversing them one at a time and see if anything changes. Sorry for the delayed response, Labor Day weekend was packed. I did finally get them to turn off when I shut the door, but they don't turn on when you click the individual buttons...

    LED Interior Lighting

I replaced my interior lights with LED lights. They work well and provide much better lighting for this blind bat. However, they don't turn on or off when I open/shut the door or unlock/lock with the key fob. They did before the changeout. They still work when using the pushbutton at the lights...

    '14 5.4 oil question.

I used off-the-shelf regular motorcraft oil in my '02 expy eb 5.4L until it got to 100K. Switched to a blend until about 175K. Then went to full synthetic. 5W20 in winter weather, 5W30 in summer. She currently has 411,500 miles on the original engine and tranny, no rebuilds or overhauls. Still...

    A happy original owner....

Just rolled over 406,000 yesterday. Bought her new with 13 original miles back on 02. Original engine and transmission. Nothing but routine maintenance, numerous brake pads and batteries, an alternator, and a starter. Engine and transmission have been married the whole time, no separations...

    High mileage Expys?

2002 Eddie Bauer, 5.4 with 398K. I bought it brand new. Still running on the original engine and original transmission. I was told that both would go out before reaching 80K. My father in law strongly suggested I get rid of it at 100K. I have tremendous fun giving him updates on the mileage. My...

    Electrical Issues??

I do have a multi-meter. I am pretty good about reading diagrams. But I am not as savvy about tracing out/troubleshooting. :/ It has been raining a lot this year and we have had leaks around the moonroof which can leak around the windshield.

    Electrical Issues??

I have an 02 Expy EB with 312,000 (fortunate to still be on the original engine and tranny). We are having electrical issues and can't figure out the problem. Horn started blowing with no regularity a few months ago, so we disconnected it. Radio stopped working 3 days ago (fuse blown...
