So I have the settings set to Auto for seats under the remote start menu. Do your heater seats turn on automatically in cold weather when remote starting? Mine never do.

Yes, mine do. Admittedly, it takes a while and the colder it is, the longer it takes. If yours are not coming on at all, try leaving the HVAC system in auto before you turn off the engine.

IIRC, the system will decide whether to cool or heat based on the outside temp, and the last position of the HVAC controls before shut off.

Another thing is that once you start the truck, the seats will turn off. You have to turn them back on.

Is this with the standard Ford remote start (small black key fob with a single button with a Key printed on it)? I have the Ford remote start on my 08 but had no idea there was a menu that I could select what happens when using the remote start, could you explain how I access that menu?

Regards Gary

Bobmbx - thanks for the reply! So it has been working. I waited 5 mins today and then looked in the window and the heated seat indicator light on the button still weren’t lit up but I opened the door and felt the seat and it was warm! I had assumed that it would turn the button indicator lights on to let me know it was heating the seats but apparently it does turn on the seats heat without turning the indicator on.

You're right...no indication when remotely started because technically, it's not fully operating yet....till you do the brake/button thing. You can go into the left side display and set your heating/cooling options as Bob noted....by outdoor temp or by "last setting".

I love this feature....no more cold mornings!

When I remote start in cold temps the seat warmers activate. After five minutes those suckers are very warm- almost too warm.
