Just recently picked up a 2009 EL XLT. Went to plug-in my seven pin trailer harness connection and found that there is absolutely nothing coming from any of the connections. Tested with meter.

There are two screw holes in the plastic shroud by my right knee that might’ve been where someone had a brake controller mounted at one point?

If in fact there was a brake controller that was removed, is there typically a place underneath the dashboard where that would plug-in to existing connectors that I should start looking at to see if maybe they were not reconnected? Or our break controller spliced into other wiring?

I also remember reading somewhere about vehicles coming with the 710 HD towing package where there was a fuse and relay that would have come with the vehicle knew that gets installed by the owner or someone else only when they decide to use the trailering package. Can anybody give me more insight on that or my imagining that I read that somewhere?

Any assistance would be helpful as I have to go pick up the family pop up and was hoping to have it done last week now looking to do it this coming week if I can get this problem solved.

Thanx

Mike

I found all of my parts under the floor in the rear cargo space. My stuff was already installed but instructions were there with a trailer brake harness ready to wire into an aftermarket. May be worth taking a look for any accessories that could have been left in there.

Fuse and relay should be in the glove compartment unless swiped by the dealer or previous owner.

Pretty sure I answered an identical question in the past week or 10 days and included the wiring diagrams and photos where these plug in.

Thanks Chuck! That may have been where I recall reading about it.

Wasn’t sure if my problem was going to be lack of connectivity from never being used and having that fuse and relay installed or from some other tinkering by a previous owner.

I’ll try and see if I can find your previous!!

Just incase you didn't know,
another quick way to search if you know the member that posted you can go to their homepage by clicking on their avatar then click on postings.
You can also do this when trying to look for a post you posted by going to your own home page. You can narrow the search at the bottom of the posting list by clicking thread or post.
Just found the link myself and edited the post while you were typing...
