Non-power liftgate higher opening height

I have used the search function, and could only find info about the powered gates. I have an 07 XLT and I would like to know if anyone has found a longer length lift strut for either the full hatch or the glass to allow for higher opening heights of either component, yet still collapses to fit in the closed position. I am 6'3" and I wish I had a couple more inches of room to open either part of the hatch. The glass opens just above eye level and the hatch is just a little low for comfort to walk under.

It might not be going up all the way, measure it and get feedback from others.

Excellent suggestion.

When the gas charged lift struts began to get weak on my 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4 (with power lift), it would not open all the way, or it would open fully - then slow drop several inches.

I measured the hatch opening from the latch point on the body to the latch on the litigate. I made sure the liftgate opens all the way too, it is 51.5" I measured the window opening the same way, that was 23.25" both of them opened to the end of the strut's travel, from what I could feel
