I have replaced the turbochargers on both sides. Is it necessary to prime the turbochargers prior to initial start post maintenance start, and if so, what is the procedure for it?

Please help.

I’d try to get the engine to crank for about 5 - 10 seconds to get oil to the turbos before starting. Many Fords have a clear flood mode that will let the car crank and not start. To do it, floor the gas pedal, keep it there to the floor and hold the brake pedal and then crank the engine with the button or key while holding both pedals down. As soon as you release the gas, the car will start or just stop cranking and and then start like you normally would. It’s hard to say if this is necessary since many turbos have a tiny bit of oil in them from assembly but can hurt to do it on a replacement.

How long did each side take? Any issues with the manifold studs?

On the 5.4 the engine won't start if you disconnect the crank sensor and it's right on the front of the engine.

Maybe the 3.5 has something similar?

Yes… oil should be supplied to them before cranking. Turning the key to the on position while holding down the accelerator was the procedure I read. I’ll try to find it.
