So I'm buying a 2013 ford expedition that may be a retired California police car. If it is is there anything different than the usual expedition? Other than the missing center cosole. If this has already been discussed please direct me to the right page because I haven't found much.

Deleted third row seat? Column shifter? Signs of "Upfitting" with cages , radios, lights? What does the title say?

I looked at several and here is what I have seen in addition to the above post.

Cloth front seats leather rear
random holes in the interior or exterior (look at the roof)
Steel wheels

Keep in mind that a lot of the government vehicles sit idle for a LOOOONG time.

Run the Vin. it'll tell you if it's a SSV trim. Usually for government work and will have a column shift.

My 2011 SSV has been very good to me. I changed every fluid in it, new battery and brakes all around. Best thing for me was a tune that raised the idle to 650 RPM with engine hot and in gear. 5 Star towing tune.
Oh yes, add a console

What tuning device did you buy to put those tunes on?

I got mine a few years ago as a package from 5 star.
It was an SXT.
Worked out great for me, probably something newer by now.
I needed it for towing, helps alot

Could be an SSV (Special Service Vehicle) instead of an SUV. A little more heavy duty, I believe. Also, look at your speedometer for text that says the speedometer has been verified.

I was already warned about that before I purchased it, thank you for the warning though, because I had no idea about that.
