Front works fine but now my rear air is not cold at all. Dropped off for an oil change, trans check(just replaced that for $5600 1000 miles ago) and to check the d*** a/c that is messing up.

Dealer called today said $400 just to charge it and diagnose…. I’m so over this blessed car. Paid 34k for it 2.5 years ago, has been in the shop countless times, have spent well over 6K out of pocket on repairs and it’s worth 18k… I don’t know how much longer I can do this

Im assuming it’s the rear evap core..

I suspect a leak in the combined system with the rear not cooling properly first. It is one system but they are setup differently how they pass freon through the evaporators. I am sorry that your car is having so many problems. I have had good success with these vehicles and currently own three generation 2 models.
You might consider an independent air conditioning shop rather than the dealership.

Or your rear HVAC temperature actuator is not working properly, allowing heat to mix with the a/c cold air.

The a/c system is on one refrigerant charge. If the front is cold - the rear evaporator would be on the same charge. It is possible the rear evaporator has clogged fins, but very unlikely.

Is the rear HVAC set to rear controls, with the temperature dial set on heat (not full cold)?

Rear a/c evap was leaking like a sieve. $1200 later and we are back on the road… I hate this thing and my wife is even more mad at me for keeping it but the amount of money I’ve got in it I just can’t stomach trading it for a small fraction of what I have in it.

Glad you got it fixed. Hopefully the major repairs are behind you for a while and you will get a chance to enjoy your vehicle. I've owned a lot of vehicles over the past 45 driving years, and as far as ride quality, comfort and enjoyability an expedition is hard to beat. Good luck going forward and thanks for following up and letting us know the resolution of the problem.

It's been my experience on a few I've personally worked on that turned out to be the T.X.V. ( metering device ). Could have some trash in the system. Worth a look. Hope it helps.
