    Weathertech or Husky

I can report that I've had my weathertech inserts for 5 years now and they virtually show no wear at all. I'm still very happy with them.

    2017 Water Leaks

I have a 2017 that we purchased new in February of 2017 for the first year and a half of it's life it lived outside on the driveway. I never had a leak of any kind. We bought a new house in July of 2018 and for the most part it has been parked in the garage and outside at work before I retired...

    Oil and Filter time...

It opens if you click on the two pages. Do you enjoy stirring the pot? It is his money and he can spend it anyway he wants to spend it. Just as I choose to get my oil tested every time I change it. I enjoy reading the reports and seeing the changes over time.

    87 vs 89 vs 93 octane - my findings

@LokiWolf has helped me many times. @07navi You would do well to listen to him. He is right more often than wrong.

    Ouch

I did and to me it a risk I wouldn't take. I would still replace the wheel and the tire. That is my opinion and choice.

    Ouch

See that's where we differ, I'd throw out the tire and the wheel and buy new ones rather than risking a major blowout at highway speed with myself or my passengers. Money is of little value if you aren't around to spend it. I don't take unnecessary risks.

    Ouch

Personal opinion - I don't take chances with with tires or wheels. If it is remotely questionable replace both. So in other words, when in doubt, throw it out! The tragedy that can happen at 70 MPH when a tire suddenly lets go is not worth the risk, particularly if my family is riding in the...

Small Mod - Replacement 3rd Brakelight

In the last 2 years I became a Mason, joined the Scottish Rite and the York Rite, a year and a half later I was elected to an officer's position in the Lodge of Perfection Line at the Scottish Rite, and I will a Shriner very soon - it would have happened two weeks ago except for my arm - more on...

Small Mod - Replacement 3rd Brakelight

I did this modification. 2-1/2 years ago and replaced the tail lights with LED tail lights. I'm pretty sure I created a thread with pictures, but I'm not going to take the time to look for it. :)

What tires are you guys running?

The Michelin Defender LTX M/S are a different tire than the M/S 2 and have a better rating then then M/S 2. I'm going to take my chance on them and see what happens.

What tires are you guys running?

Very nice. I would have put them on already but I fell and broke my left arm up at the shoulder so I haven't been working for the last three weeks so that project is on hold. The good thing is I didn't have to drive in the snow on Monday, the bad thing is that my arm still hurts like hell. :)...

What tires are you guys running?

I'm ready to get new tires now that the winter has started early. I plan to go with Michelin Defender LTX M/S. I have been running Firestone Destination A/Ts They are getting kind if thin after 26,000 miles. They are about 5 - 6 32nds. If it was the beginning of the summer I would run them a few...

    How to remove headlight assembly?

Beside the two screws are two tabs on the top, lift them up to release the top of the assembly. The bottom of the assembly has two tits that fit in sockets mounted to the radiator frame. After you release the two tabs, grab the left and right sides of the assemble as best you can and pull and...

Oil analysis as a predictor for cam phaser/timing chain/cam/follower issues?

Yes I have been using full synthetic since the first oil change. It is the regular Ford full synthetic oil.

Oil analysis as a predictor for cam phaser/timing chain/cam/follower issues?

@inmainlanier - here is my latest oil report at 21,000 miles. Ford says there is no recall or fix for the higher amount of fuel in the oil. It is lower again this time. Read the top of the report.

Oil analysis as a predictor for cam phaser/timing chain/cam/follower issues?

I'm not sure what is going on with the fuel right now. I checked with ford and they have not TSB or anything that fixes fuel in the oil. When I first bought the truck I was semi retired and worked from home teaching college classes online. The school closed in September. I had been there 5-1/2...

Oil analysis as a predictor for cam phaser/timing chain/cam/follower issues?

@inmanlanier - I have a 2017 Ecoboost. I have 16,000 miles on it after almost 2 years - bought it in Feb of 2017. I have had Blackstone doing the analysis since my first oil change at 1000 miles and each of the other changes are at about 5K. I'm running full synthetic and I'm comfortable with...
