Anyone know where to find this peice

Tasca prices for the release handle. Mind blowing what they charge for that thing.

    Expedition stumbled badly on interstate.

The “fix” was actually the eBOV and being relocated to the bottom of the intercooler, which allows the fluid to be purged out of it. Unfortunately, it throws it right back into the intake system unless you are running your BOV in VTA like I am. But Ford says it solved the problem, mostly, and...

Hopefully the only unanswered Readylift question...

The 2017 load-leveling shocks don’t care one way or another about the presence of the spacer. There’s no arms or sensors for the load-leveling, unlike the 2013 air setup. It’s all internal to the shock, and strictly based on the relationship of the valve to the shock body, which should remain in...

After you posted your pictures, I decided to take a look, and sure enough, my exhaust hanger also rests on my skid plate. Which surprises me, as I don’t hear any noise out of it. Definitely not just your truck though.

    door keypad

It’s been too long to remember if you can do it with FORScan. Check the FORScan thread, it might have been mentioned in there. As far as the other code, you can program new codes as long as you have the original (which should be the one under the kick panel). My factory code stopped working for...

    R1 Concepts Brakes

They aren’t more quiet, it stems from my track days, when running angled/curved vanes this direction as opposed to normal, it forces more air into the center of the rotor. A 3,700-pound car riding on 11-inch twin-piston brakes needed all the help I could give it in the cooling department. R1...

    R1 Concepts Brakes

The pads are actually original OEM compound, just “enhanced”. Based on their charts, they rate ceramics and semi-metallic as a 7 on the friction level, their Super Heavy-Duty as a 6.5, and their Performance as 9.5; but, sadly, they don’t offer the Performance for our trucks. As I could easily...

    R1 Concepts Brakes

I actually discussed this with R1, and while they recommend the other direction typically, they also said it comes down to user preference. In my case, even with angled vents (which this rotor does not have) I would run my rotors this direction. I’ve never seen hard evidence of any detrimental...

    Cargo Mat

I have the full-length Husky (that goes to the back of the second row) in the back of mine. When I need to use the third row, I just bend it up against the seat so it acts as both a floor and seatback protector. It’s plenty flexible enough for it. Sticks up above the seat some, but not enough to...

2017 3.5l ecoboost Expedition, any known issues?

I have 69K on mine, my wife has 91K on hers, and thus far they’ve been solid trucks. Engines and transmissions are good, Ford figured out most of the trouble areas and quirks of the combo long before they were ever put in an Expedition. Not to say they are necessarily completely trouble-free...

Out with the old, in with the new

I’m usually as quick as the next guy to break out the power tools and hack metal up, but since it was 10 minutes after I had the wheels put on, I didn’t feel like taking them off to whack off the end of the axles. With the removable “Ford” bar, it made it easy to trim them up. I just need to hit...

    Munkie's Mods

Sometimes I forget my truck is also tuned with intake and modified exhaust, so it is quite a bit snappier than my wife's stock Platinum, even with the 35s on it. My pedal-to-TB ratio is considerably better than a stock one, which progress slowly and ramp up as you push further. A tune makes it...

Okay, that makes sense. I was wondering if it was an off-road issue, i.e., easier manipulation of the throttle. I can’t imagine having 4.56s, even with 4.10s I would struggle with spinning the tires everywhere I went. Even with my 35s, I have constant TC light flickering while I’m driving. Lol

Out with the old, in with the new

Thanks all. Though the grille isn’t actually black, I just removed all the chrome pieces I had painted gray so I can redo them. Since center cap fit is always a hot topic. Rather than cut the axles, I used a 1” hole saw to drill through the center cap, minus the “Ford” part, which is...

Out with the old, in with the new

Swapped my stock XLT wheels and 285/75R18 Terra Grapplers for a set of 2018 Raptor takeoffs. No rubbing at all, which is astounding as they are much wider and my old tires did rub. ETA: the rubbing was only at full right lock, and the inside of the tire rubbed the fender liner just barely...

    Spare wheel stock size question

Short answer is that an 18" tire will not fit on a 17" wheel. So your current spare wheel is useless to be able to exactly match the rest. As you've discovered, Ford for some reason gave the XLT with 18" wheels a 17" spare. Other Expeditions seem to have come with either a 17" or 18" spare...

    R1 Concepts Brakes

Took forever, but I got them installed finally and put some miles on them, about 1K so far. Bottom-line is that they are an improvement over the stock brakes in every way except one: initial cold bite. The first stop after they’ve been sitting cold lacks grab, but once they warm up, they are...

    Coolant leak from turbo line

https://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/bl3z6a968c/ I wasn’t on yesterday, but from what I’ve found, this is the fitting on the turbo side of that coolant line. This isn’t the plastic one it comes with from the factory, but an upgraded version. BL3Z-6A968B is the fitting at the block. From what I...

“Service AdvanceTrac” and “Hill Descent Fault”

Have you tried using FORScan to check the codes in the modules? The first time I used it on my truck, I discovered a few codes for systems that had never even produced a trouble light.

    R1 Concepts Brakes

Not sure if anyone else is familiar with them, but my new front brakes arrived today from R1. Got their black E-Line slotted rotors and Optimum OEP pads, as they were the highest friction pads they sell for the Expedition. Obviously, I’ll be following up once I get them installed, but initial...

    Spare tire rim

I’ve got a 35x11.50R18 full-size spare in my well under the truck. Definitely the max for it, but doesn’t hit anything. @gixer2000 definitely makes a valid point, the hole on my spare looks much bigger than the hub bore of my stock wheels.

Wheels have been decided. Question is will 275/70/18s fit??

The center cap on OEM F-150 wheels will hit the end of the rear axle. Some cut the end of the threaded portion to fit, and I believe there was one who found he could simply clearance the caps themselves without issue. I’d be curious if our OEM caps off Expedition wheels can just pop in.

    Poor headlights

The HIDs are going to have the same problem all HID bulbs in reflector housings have, they scatter light all over the place. The light isn’t concentrated in the proper place, so there’s no focus to it. They “look” brighter due to the color while actually decreasing the amount of light where you...

Wheels have been decided. Question is will 275/70/18s fit??

My wife’s Plat came with an 18” spare and mine came with a 17”, even though my truck came with 18” wheels and hers 22”. I stole hers to fit my full-size spare. I’d definitely lean towards the highest offset you can find in a wheel you like. A 0 offset is pushing the wheel center out by nearly...
