Wheels have been decided. Question is will 275/70/18s fit??

@shinysideup2 said he is rubbing with a 275/60R20 (33”) on a 20x9 with +18 offset, with no lift. He’s rubbing the fender trim. Your tire edge will be even further out than his, which would indicate to me that you’re likely going to have problems, even at 1” of lift. With 2”, I’d call it a maybe.

    2017 Expedition EL-Child seats / Top Tethers

Thought this might help shed some light on how the single factory tether is attached to the seat back. It’s basically bolted on to the steel frame, which runs the full width of the seat. I, personally, would have zero qualms about popping the seat back cover up, drilling another hole, and using...

    Factory subwoofer?

You can’t really relocate them. But as long as they are still connected, it shouldn’t be an issue. The rear channel in my wife’s truck went out and everything else still worked fine. Just sounded awful.

    Factory subwoofer?

Not if you only remove the subwoofer. The housing also holds the DSP and amplifier, which must stay with the truck unless you run a replacement signal processor and corresponding aftermarket amps.

    Grill and Foglight removal??

It’s been a while, but if I’m recalling correctly, I cleaned the grille by taking it off, rinsing it, then scuffed the chrome with a green Scotch Brite pad and tossed it in the dishwasher with soap to get any wax or grease residue that might be on it off. Then I sprayed it normally, going...

    Grill and Foglight removal??

i know you said it didn’t work for you, but this was how mine came out using Peel Coat in graphite. I did the front and the trim on the back last September. The back looks like the day I did it, the front has a few chunks missing now that it’s been 13 months.

Magnaflow MF Cat-back on an EB

The 19050 is for the EL, but it’s not being produced yet. The 19051 is for the non-EL and is being produced. They should sound identical though. For the 2014 Expedition, the only difference between the EL and non-EL exhausts is that extension pipe. According to Magnaflow, they are both 3”...

Any Off-roaders / wheelers in Expedition ELs? Can we expand the parts aftermarket?

@Black more or less hit the nail on the head. Aftermarket interest in our trucks is basically nonexistent. Especially in the off-road department. The 15-17 trucks are almost worse than the 14-under trucks due to the facelift and minor changes in the suspension. I’d love to have more choices...

First Post - Tow Mirror Suggestions

The OEM ones are listed as fitting 2012-17, so I can’t inagine they wouldn’t actually fit and plug in. I had not noticed they only list them for the 2015. Running tow mirrors isn’t for everyone, but I love having the regular and small convex mirrors on both sides. Regular mirrors feel so...

    Cooling fan behind instrument panel?

It could be a fan for the nav system and you have really good ears. Is it possible you are hearing the engine fan just blasting on high coming through the firewall?

First Post - Tow Mirror Suggestions

https://www.1aauto.com/mirror-pair-trail-ridge-tr00078/i/1amrp01650 I’ve been quite happy with these on my 2015 for the past year and a half.

Largest tire that will fit in the spare tire well?

I don’t know if the design is different across the years, but I have a 285/75R18 (35x11.50-18) stuffed nicely in my spare tire well. No hammer required.

    My 15 ecoboost saga....

Your dealer is full of it. Of course they are covering it under warranty, they can blame it on your oil change interval all they want, but considering Ford does NOT have a mileage-specific oil change interval unless it doesn’t get reset properly, what possible reason could they give for denying...

WDH needed on '17 Limited Expy for 7,600lbs?

Boats tend to have a lower tongue weight, but that’s a heavy boat. I’d still run the WDH for it, even locally. I understand your reasoning behind not wanting to run it, but as the load doesn’t change much, once you set it up the first time, there shouldn’t be much in the way of changes needed...

WDH needed on '17 Limited Expy for 7,600lbs?

I’d say the decal, and Ford’s towing guide, are pretty specific about needing a WDH for that much weight. With a 7,600-pound trailer, you will have 800+ pounds in tongue weight (my car trailer loaded is 7,800 pounds with 1,000 pounds on the tongue) hanging off the furthest rearward part of the...

    Custom Grill for 2015 - 2017

I can say I’ve never seen one for sale, which is a shame, as I think it would look good with a mesh grille like I had on my F-150. I resorted to painting mine, which is the most common solution I’ve seen.

    Rear wheels off center?

The way the suspension is designed, the rear wheels move in an arc from a pivot just in front of the wheels. As they move up, they also go forward, and as they compress, they move backward. If you modified the control arms to re-center the wheels in the wheel wells at lifted height, the geometry...

    Advice sought

I’ll add another endorsement for 5 Star. I never had a tune on my 5.4 F-150, but I have had theirs on my 4.6 3V F-150, 5.0 F-150, and now my EB. A noticeable improvement in all of them. I started with an X3, then bought an X4. SCT seems to have Ford nailed, which is why I’ve stuck with them...

    ‘15 Headlight Basic Retrofit

Yeah, I knew something was off as soon as I pulled up and the hot spot almost wasn’t in the cutoff. With the 15 hours of daylight we get here, it’s hard just to find darkness with my work schedule. I’ll play around with them in the morning hopefully and see what I can get out of them. There...

    ‘15 Headlight Basic Retrofit

I don’t know what vehicle these projectors came out of, but they definitely have some very halogen-like slopes even though they are D3S projectors. Hotspot is weak, but though it may not look like it, they have a ton of foreground. The lows are actually really wide, and are being limited by the...

    ‘15 Headlight Basic Retrofit

Won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I wanted to test out Profile’s new Hi-Lens multi-LED dedicated high-beam, so a quick retro of my wife’s headlights was in order. The halogen projectors were replaced with low-beam-only HID projectors as well. I’m not sure what the projectors are from, the guy...

    LED bulb install

The license plate light housings are known for being fragile, and most who go LED there seem to break them trying to get them out. For the interior, you just have to pry off the covers over the bulbs. In mine it was easy for the second row and cargo, but the front was a real triumph popping...

Is that stock or aftermarket? Do i dare use it with engine off, or only idling/driving?

I’m an idiot. I thought you referring to the “DC” socket, not the AC. Cover on mine says 150W. It’s fused higher, but the inverter shuts down if you go above that.

Heated Steering Wheel - Installation on my 2017

This is amazing. Huge props to you for pulling this off. No issues with the button functions? It’s controlled through the factory HSW button?

Is that stock or aftermarket? Do i dare use it with engine off, or only idling/driving?

Based on this, it’s stock. I’d imagine it can handle the typical amp load of any of the other plugs in the truck, so probably fused at 15.
