    2004 Expedition and New, Plasti dip question

    Here's my dipped 2004: white dip on doors and roof. Black dip on rims, bumpers, front grille, running boards, tan trim all around and the entire liftgate. Black dip done in 2013, white in the summer of 2014 and still in good shape.

    Didn't do this TO the Expy, but FOR the Expy: redneck 4" jack extension from a piece of steel pipe :) Tested it pretty aggressively and it's rock solid. I can finally get rid of the piece of wood I had to use since I installed the lift kit.

    Thanks! BTW, the reason I plastidipped the liftgate in the first place was that annoying aluminum corrosion and paint bubbling issue that seems to be so common on 2nd gens. I initially tried proper automotive paint, but couldn't get it to look smooth so I just said F* it! and went with PlastiDip...

    I was at Costco today and they had a good price on tire shine spray so I picked up a 4-pack and did the tires. Then a god damn bird decided to crap on one of them.

    As promised, a pic of the bedliner-painted rims. You can see the difference in glossiness between the bedliner on the rims and the plastidip on the bumper and fender flares. I think i'll do the bumpers with bedliner next.

    Nav unit not getting GPS position

    Update, since I had this issue again. There's definitely a connection between the ABS system and the GPS system. I had a bad ABS speed sensor (and wheel hub) last month and once again the GPS stopped getting a signal. Once I replaced the ABS sensor, the GPS started working properly again.

    2004 EB and parts of the the frame are really showing their age (especially the rad support). hope the rust inhibitor slows down the decay.

    Flying out of town now, so the only pic I could post is of the asphalt overspray on my arm that I was unable to remove even after lots of scrubbing :) I'll take pics of the truck when I'm back in a couple days.
