Little update from last night. Pulled the passenger fender well, removed the trans fill tube and unbolted the front pipe from the manifolds. The bolt that holds the trans fill tube in is hard to see but, its a nice little 8mm bolt behind the a/c lines in the picture. I took a cleaner shot about...
Oil in the coolant = blown head gasket
Coolant in the oil = blown head gasket
If its blowing oil out of the radiator then the head gasket it blown so bad its pressurizing the cooling system. Had that happen on a Mustang once and it blew the inlet on radiator apart. You can change the head...
This weekend I drained all the fluids, dropped both the drive shafts, my shift kit, HD torque converter, trans adapter for my jack and Assemblee lube arrived. I'll get more pictures of everything so far. Also there was a rattling that I have found was a shrould that went over the universal...
I think black4x4 iis right on the money. Replace the O2 sensors and clear the code. Drive it for 50 - 100 miles and see how it reacts.
Z168,
I think something was "lost in translation" when the OP wrote it pulls.
Is the check engine light on? If so read the codes and post them here. If not then clean the mass air flow sensor with mass air flow sensor cleaner. Check all vacuum lines. Make sure the air filter is clean, if not rellace it.
I will do my best to document everything. From the videos I've watched and the information on the rebuild I've gathered. Anyone should be able to rebuild their own transmission.
Over the long weekend I cleaned out the garage and moved the expy in for a trans rebuild. I drained the converter, then the pan. The fluid is burnt and its time to overhaul at 243k miles. I'd say thats prEtty good. I ordered the rebuild kit from here oregon performance. They were recommended...
Wow! This is a new. Usually Jaspers are pretty good motors. Im guessing the shop is causing these problems, but I cant say that for sure. Im sorry to hear you're going through all this hassle. It sucks!
I dont have one on my Expy, but I do have one on my wifes vehicle and it has a nice deeper tone. I have one to put on my expy soon. But that might be a few months.
From what I know of the two transmissions they are not plug and play. You need the computer from the 99 and wiring harness to work with the 4r100. That transmission is a tougher unit, so it might be worth the hassle of swapping all of that over. But if he lied to you about what the trans was I...
I climbed under the expedition today and the trans is only wet across the bottom. The top is dry and I popped the drain cover under the torque converter. There was trans fluid inside the torque converter housing at the front of the trans.
