    4.6L codes p0301 & p0302

So the 5.4 and 4.6 are notorious for having leaky intake gaskets along with leaky heater hoses. I would suggest pulling the alternator and see if it looks wet in the valley under the intake. I just recently got done with my wifes 2004 5.4 intake gasket swap to fix a constant misfire on #4 (P0304...

    replacing ECU/PCM

I wish I could have had them update my ECU for free lol. They charged me for that but since they couldn't figure out the issue decided to redo my keys after I swapped the ECU. I guess it balances out in the end. The worst they could do is say no or possibly do it for a lower cost.

Thinking about a possible EXPY meet and greet for Pacific Northwest peeps.

I there are quite a few Expy owner from the forum that are here in the PNW, just a matter of getting all of us together in one location lol. I would like to do something mid next month if possible. Would love to see the look on people faces up here with a good sized group of big Expy's all in...

Thinking about a possible EXPY meet and greet for Pacific Northwest peeps.

I am up north in Arlington, WA. So it def sounds like Portland could be a good central spot depending on who all is interested. Hopefully we get some more interest from more people.

Thinking about a possible EXPY meet and greet for Pacific Northwest peeps.

Hello everyone, I was thinking about trying to get some of the other local Pacific Northwest Expy guys to do a meet and greet. I figured I would start with this forum since I have both a Gen 1 and a Gen 2 Expy, but my Gen 1 is the only built one so far. I figure it is still early enough in...

    replacing ECU/PCM

My wife has a 2004 and the temp gauge did the same thing from time to time along with the dash message center reading loss of power occasionally even though it never actually loss power. We took it to Ford who had it for about 3 days total and came back to saying it was the computer but they...

Update and problem solved for p0304 code!!!

So I think I finally fixed my constant misfire and rough idle after messing with it and throwing about $1000 at it over the last 3 months. I had the famous P0304 code that I could not get rid of and that didn't always pop up right away. I started my journey with swapping the plugs, COP's, all...

    Oil leak?

I have to agree. I rode around with mine leaking for over a year before I did my full build. I was usually adding about 1-1.5 quarts between oil changes. Now I am sadly back to half a quart between oil changes due to a leaky rear main seal. Based on mileage it sounds about right for a head...

    Oil leak?

This sounds like the notorious head gasket leak on these. Ford runs coolant ports and oil ports right by each other on the heads and the head gaskets tend to leak oil out of the back passenger side corner or possibly the driver side corner in the back of the motor which will make it look like it...

    Occasional Long Crank

The COPS usually take me about and hour to 1.5 hours. Depending on skill level it could take upwards of 3-4 hours. You will need the following tools: 1/4 inch socket wrench 7mm deep well or short well socket extension (probably good with a pair of 6 inch extensions and a shorty extension)...

    Unique Head Gasket Question

I had a head gasket leak on a rebuilt motor on my 2002 4.6L Explorer and figured I would give a try to a "mechanic in a bottle" and had great results. I figured I had nothing to lose since it was either that or another rebuild. The price is $189 but they do have a money back guarantee on it...

There is another thread with more info I think you might be looking for. Search for "Shocks for 2000 expedition 4x4" or check under the 1st Gen new posts. Lowered my 2001 expy

I have been researching for a bit now trying to figure out part numbers for the drop spindles through belltech and cant seem to find them. Do you by chance have any part numbers handy for the spindles or drop shocks? I already know I can go with the 2 inch drop springs on the rear. Thanks!

2005 Expedition shuts off while Driving but Starts

honestly it takes about 20 minutes to pull the fuse block out from the passenger side behind the trim pieces. There are about 10 wire harnesses that luckily only go into the respective slot so you cant get them mixed up. Taking apart the box isnt that difficult and if you are comfortable with...

Feels like its misfiring but no codes

Some of the same issues here as well. I put up a thread on here yesterday to see if anyone could offer some insight on a rough idle with misfire code and no answers back yet. I popped the famous P0304 (cylinder #4 misfire) and have since swapped plugs, cops, pcv valve assy, all 4 O2 sensors...

    2004 Expy 5.4L Dying

I just recently had to go through this with my 2004 5.4L (about 1 week ago). It is actually the soldered fuel pump relay in the middle on the inside of the fuse block. They call it a non serviceable relay which basically means its soldered onto the board and the mechanic is not going to take the...

Need help with another P0304 code!! (Yes I have read through the threads)

I swapped around a few of the injectors yesterday as well to see if the code follows. Hopefully it pops on a different cylinder now. If it pops the same code I guess I will need to start checking all of the actual wiring and see if that is causing an issue with it. Other than that I am stumped...
