Doing the front struts and stab links today. Saw that my brake pads are quite worn on the front. A brake job will be required soon. Might as well do it now while everything is apart and I've spent two Saturdays in a row on this thing.
Noticed that the rotors' surfaces are far from smooth...
I’m sorry. I was not subscribed to my own thread it seemed. I ended up with Moog and I had a great coupon code. They go in so easy that if I need/want to replace them in a few years, I can/will. They had zerts for grease so I’m good. Thanks for your response.
Thanks, bean. Will do.
(It’s in the farm shop down the road. Put new rear struts on yesterday and have bolt that won’t thread. Need the appropriate tap to ensure I don’t mess things up).
I struck out so far on finding metric stuff. Local hardware store told me they had metric up to that size. Drove over. Wrong. Nothing close. Woman.
Tractor Supppy! Good idea. I forgot about them and we have one nearby. Also, Fastenal maybe?
Thanks, everyone.
Installing new struts on my 2011 Expedition EL Limited. One of the bolts will not thread in the way it should. If I take bolt to the other side, it does thread in...
I don't know how it happened but it did. It's a Saturday night. My farming friends have SAE sets but no metric. Lowe's doesn't...
Dang. That sounds like a deal.
My '15 GMC Sierra (company truck) has remote start but the Heat/AC does not come on with the ignition - unless there's a way to change that. I'll have to look into it. I'm hoping that the Expy is how you say - leave it set the way you want it in the morning and...
I guess I clicked "watch" so that I could read more about it. Good point. I usually do some more research before purchasing. Hence this thread. :)
Also, I'd like to do this before Christmas for my wife. This Christmas. So, good call on the China thing.
By the way, a lot of the auctions say...
I'm looking to replace these on my '11 EL Limited. What a difference in build between these two. I've read on some threads that the Moogs are great. They are also about half the price of the FoMoCo ones.
Opinions?

It is a Limited. I do not have Forscan yet but have it in my shopping cart at Amazon to try.
Also, I think I saw a video where there was some button or harness above the pedals/under the dash that was part of that system. I'll look up that video and see what that was talking about.
I don't pay...
I thought I saw a youtube video that described the bottom nut of the strut to be a 31mm yet when I'm in stores I see sets and individual sockets that include a 32 but no 31. Just wondering if you know. (Bilstein 4600 I believe)
I'm sorry to start another thread on remote start but I hate to hijack a thread that's related. It gets complicated for those trying to follow the OP's original question and discussion.
I have a 2011 EL Ltd. No remote start indicated on the key fobs. My wife would love to have it given the...
I've been under the beast and the only thing that I can find that moves is one of the stabilizer links. It doesn't rattle (not that worn out) but it can be twisted as it pivots on the ball socket relatively easily. It seems hard to believe that it could cause a problem. I'm surprised they are...
stamp. Your post was on the 2nd page and I didn't see it. Sorry about that. I'd be grateful for some help with it. I'll find a time when I can work on it unless you want to just take it step by step over the forum here.
Let's say the driver's side map light is a good place to start.
I tried what you said on F9 and F10, as well as F4 per the poster above and have 14.8 ish volts on all, both sides. Door open, which means the interior lights were on. Some of them. I forgot to mention that the lights that have been "switched on", will come on when the door opens, but won't come...
Whoa. I got excited for a minute there. But my F4 fuse is in place and not blown. However, it is a 30A fuse there. I wonder if someone had worked on this before.
Where does the windshield drain to in these Expeditions? I had a similar problem in a Dodge Caravan. Actually, the water was sloshing around behind the dash. Turns out bits of leaves had plugged the drain tube. Wasn't a big deal to fix.
Thanks, Stamp. Wife is away with the vehicle today, so I'll check it when I get back.
As far as testing the fuse. You mean to pull the fuse and bridge the connection with the two leads on the multimeter? I don't know if I've ever used a mm at a fire panel.
Hi everyone, I touched on this in a multi-question thread last year which was more about running boards always reverting to auto and got a few responses but the main discussion was the running boards. I need to address this issue. We are so used to it, we just deal with it... :(
2011 Expy EL...
Am I hearing that all Expeditions have the remote-start module in place and it's a matter of accessing/enabling it using Forscan?
If not, how do I find out if my vehicle has it?
I think he's responding to the previous poster (w/o using the quote function) who said something to the effect of: "these lights are to keep away bad guys b/c they don't like a lot of light around when they are being bad". (paraphrased)
I've been on the lookout for "The Works" and haven't seen it after looking through a couple of grocery stores and dollar-type stores. An online search has shown results that vary widely from $1500 per bottle :) to ~$6.00/case.
I did have great results last weekend, just merely by getting on my...
