    Catch Can!

It'd benefit more from new phasers and solenoids. Coming soon, along with all the other stuff, and a new Melling HV oil pump.

    Catch Can!

I'm glad the 5.4 doesn't need one of these, but every other part of the engine is problematic ;)

    [ 07'14' Tester Needed ]

Now if only someone would make a nice tail light set for a Navigator of this same vintage.

Is it going to die? Never heard it run. She goes ticky tick for way to long.

Sounds more like an exhaust leak maybe than anything mechanical. But, it's hard to tell when you're taking the video from 15 feet behind the vehicle. Try from the front with the hood open.

63000 “certified” 3.5L eco boost replacement

That's a pretty sordid story. At first I thought they were lying to you about the engine being discontinued, but sure enough, I went to Tasca Ford Parts and both the long block and short block are discontinued for this vintage of Expedition/Navigator/F150/Transit. The crankshaft is also...

DIY Oil Change--How much oil to add?

I wouldn't let the oil go 10K in these engines, a 5w30 will shear down to a 5w20 in that amount of miles. Some people use 0w40/5w40 with the Ecoboosts, I probably would if I had one and it was out of warranty. I also do used oil analysis and recommend it to others as well. Determine your...

What are the tools and procedures needed for this?

2015 - Engine cuts out going up hill with a load or pulling a trailer

K&N's are for drag racing. They let too much dirt through for a daily driver, you will be able to see more silicon (dirt) on a used oil analysis using a K&N. Use a normal paper filter.

    2012 Expedition XLT EL 4X4 - What's the best remanufactured 5.4 3v?

Had a similar circumstance arise a while back. I looked at an Expedition EL Eddie Bauer with 151K that idled really rough when I went to test drive it, and the MIL came on. The selling dealer said they'd take a look at it. They called me a couple of days later and said they were sending it...

Operating 2014 Limited After Low Transmission Fluid?

I have done this repair on my back on the garage floor with the Navigator on jack stands. It's not difficult, just time consuming. And unfortunately the pan gasket was not reusable in my case as there was a large nick out of the rubber part, so I had to stop and go to the Ford dealer to get...

    Looking for advise on tires...

Not that it's the same tire, but I got a set of 275/55R20 Yokohama Geolandar HT G056 for $590 all in on sale on Walmart.com. The normal price on this tire is around $180 per tire and a set of these at Discount Tire is over $1000 with mounting, balancing and road hazard. I took a chance and let...

    Alignment and dealer(s)

Interesting that a number of posters mention outside tire wear on their vehicles. When I got mine it had noticeably worn the insides of the tires. I replaced the tires a few months back, but dreading the alignment job that I probably should have done to avoid my new tires suffering the same fate.

    Ecoboost engine burning fluids

You're going to be out of luck unless you buy something really old, because the pushrod setups have VVT also starting in 2007 and above (for GM), and the new Ford pushrod 7.3 has VVT also. Ram went VVT about the same time also on the Hemi. Your use profile is easy on an engine. 800 highway...

    A/C Only Works Sitting Still???

Get some gauges put on it to see where your pressures are, then if that's ok, check on the cutout switch as Jamaica Joe mentioned.

    Towing

Other thing is I don't think I would want to tow near limits with the 5.4, it's pretty gutless towing a small trailer with bricks stacked only 3 rows high from my experience. This was with the smallest trailer that Home Depot rents, with a capacity on the side of 1750 lbs, and bricks stacked...

    Towing

Why do most people recommend the 3/4 tons? Longer wheelbase, more weight, less likely to have the tail wagging the dog, so to say. A 3/4 will be more forgiving for a bad setup or a newbie behind the wheel. Higher payload is another factor, makes it easier to put more people and stuff in the...

    REAR WIPER

I need a new arm for my 2010 Gator because the little piece that covers the bolt has fallen off, and it's unsightly to see the bolt all the time. I clicked on the link for the other thread that's in the 3rd or 4th post and it seems like the Dorman with the traditional hook style arm is what I...

    E85 tune?

Even though E85 has less energy per gallon, it is possible to run it at a higher thermal efficiency. But everyone uses this ability by tuning just to get gonzo power, not to get better mileage. It is possible to close the mileage gap with unleaded if engines were optimized for E85. Higher...

    Expedition Max vs standard size

Mine is a shorty and I wish I had the longer one at times. You could not pick up 7 people at the airport with all their luggage because of the limited amount of space behind the back seat when the 3rd row was up. My wife is Brazilian and they travel heavy. We don't have people visiting us now...

My Expedition came with Platinum Price and Pinto Quality

I need to do a timing job on my 2010 Navi it's clicking on startup, the HVAC blend doors are clicking away, the paint is peeling off my Lincoln logo, and the brakes are about shot. Gets 16mpg if I baby it, if I floor it gets 12-13. Oh well I'll get around to it when I get around to it...

This is cool, thanks folks. Never liked the way this works on my 2010 Navigator!

Found this forum looking for information about HV oil pumps

Figured I'd join, I like the F150 groups but's nice to have a model specific group. I have a 2010 Navigator, which is basically the same as an Expedition in most of the meaningful ways - engine, transmission, body, brakes, etc. I've had it for about 6 months and so far it's been pretty good...
