    Lots of excellent responses, thanks! #2 doesn't start when I push the button #6 good idea, I'll try the 2nd fob #9 fob stays inside the vehicle all the time I'll report back after I try the second fob. I'm assuming the battery (CR 2032) would be stronger as I've never used it.

    Yes, it's black but I am the original owner. It apparently sat on the lot for a year and only had 43 miles on it. It truly was in new condition. The only thing "fishy" is that I believe it had a new battery in it. Not sure why a new battery would go bad in one year.

    Job done, kept the calipers. Still don't understand why the system failed after only 25k on the clock. One side had one pad totally gone- just the backing plate. Other pad was maybe 50% gone.     Yes, the lens is clean. The yellow tint is a specific rectangular (or maybe square- not sure) shape. There may even be another color pattern mixed in. It is encouraging to hear yours is clear, maybe mine can be reset somehow. What year is yours?
