I just bought the new Dorman replacement IWE that eliminate the vacuum. Basically, the hubs will always be locked, like every other truck on the market. No more grinding.

Yeah, I found it when I got home. To test it out, I’ve disconnected the vacuum line going to the IWEs, to keep them engaged without actually being in 4WD. I know this isn’t an issue with a part-time 2WD/4WD transfer case, but does anybody see an issue with it in a 4A transfer set to 2WD?
For a...
Hey all, is the check valve for the 2015 Expedition in the same location (and type) as the same year F-150? I'm getting a grinding in the front end during low-speed braking and coasting. I'm hoping it's just the IWEs trying to engage. A little gas and it goes away. I haven't been able to do...
Yeah, I have the Tesla style from AliExpress in my GS300. It's been pretty good. Lots of tweaks in the settings to get it right, but it's good to go.

I have one in my 2006 Lexus GS300. I've had it installed for over a year and it works great. It integrated my climate control and everything, while before it was a manual button control for climate control. I would expect the same quality for the Expedition. The only oddities are some of the...
Mine rotates a quarter turn when I press the switch each time....so eventually it works it’s way out. It just won’t continue to go out while pressing it continuously. I have a code present for the telescoping steering wheel, as well (something like an overcurrent situation detected or such)...
I realize that this has been a while, but hopefully someone can help me with a similar issue. My wife's steering wheel will move just a little each time you press the telescoping button. This goes for both in and out. If I keep pressing it, it will eventually go all the way out with the rod...
Our Expedition has been experiencing a 'surge' or gear hunting at around 60mph recently. It got worse Tuesday evening and we received this code (P0301) and a flashing check engine light. On Wednesday, I replaced the plugs and moved the #1 coil to the #2 cylinder as a troubleshooting measure...
UPDATE: While I didn't experience the surging from before, I did look at Forscan at lunch today and noticed that the cylinder 1 misfire P0301 code was back. It said it was "maturing and intermittent at the time". I don't know if that was old data or not, quite honestly. I'll be putting a new...
Well, I took her Expedition for a long ride today and it didn't exhibit any of the symptoms that I had before, so it was definitely time to change the plugs. The gap on my #1 cylinder plug was way off too. They looked like original plugs from 85k miles ago.
Front brake pads are next this...
Just unhooking the battery for a while ( I had it unhooked while I changed the spark plugs) and then, once hooked back up, turn the ignition to ‘on’ without starting it for 5 seconds or so, start it and let it idle for 15 minutes. Don’t touch the throttle or move it during that idle time...
The surging got worse yesterday for my wife and it threw a code.....#1 cylinder misfire. I changed the spark plugs today and cleaned the throttle body while I was in there. I also moved my # 1 cop to the # 2 position to see if the problem arises there next. I did the throttle body relearn...
The battery was disconnected for about 4 hours while I did the shocks. The shocks are set at a 1 inch level. I drove it last night and it did it again. As soon as I hit the gas or get off of it, it goes away immediately. I pulled the codes when I got back to the house and there was nothing. I...
I don’t think these are self leveling. There is nothing going into them like air lines or whatever. It’s very strange. I’ll start looking for some stock rears at the junk yards to swap out.

I unhooked the battery when I installed the Bilsteins on it last weekend. This week, we took a road trip to my parents’ house in the mountains and I noticed the tranny bouncing between 6th gear and torque converter lock (I could feel it and see the tach jumping with it). This only occurred at...
So I got the fronts installed just fine and am happy with how they feel. I didn't do the rears because I could tell that the stock shock is WAY bigger diameter than the Bilsteins that Stage 3 sent me that are supposed to be compatible. I have a hard time believing that the spring seat will sit...
Nevermind, I read the Bilstein instructions closer and it looks like the 2015 spring seats take the place of that collar. I guess they fit tight enough to not need that collar.

Hey guys, I’m planning on installing Bilstiens today but just noticed that they don’t have the collar that goes over the height adjustment ring. Am I supposed to have those? None of the four have it in the box. The install videos online show the collar going over the ring.

So, I just ordered Bilstein 5100's and am wondering how much (if any) I raise it. The fronts can raise a max of 1" and the back can go 1.5". I was considering 1" in the front and .5" in the back to keep a bit of rake for when it's loaded with kids and gear. Anybody have pics of a similar...
How hard is it to get the pressed on perches off of the stock shocks?
I'll be taking it to a shop on base to do the work myself.....they have a press, so hopefully that should do the trick.
While I'm at it spending a bunch of money on other repairs, I thought I'd order some Bilsteins and do my wife's shocks as well. I'm going with

but don't necessarily...
So, they lowered it to $1700. This includes the water pump, new degas bottle and hose (do we have a degas??? I thought it was a recovery tank) and coolant flush. If I replace all of that myself, it's about $500. They said the 'degas' was leaking too. They also said the brake booster vacuum...
I see that now. It must have been the older ones that were harder. If they don’t come back with a heck of a deal today, I’ll be doing it myself. It doesn’t look hard at all.
