I'm replacing the radiator on my 98 Expy 4x4 5.4 w/HD towing. How do I get that funky bottom hose off and back on the new radiator? I bent the tab but can't get the hose to rotate so it will come off.
I have an interment miss that I believe is an injector sticking. I've replaced the plugs and cop's in the last 2000 mi. Since it doesn't throw a code I'm trying to figure out the best way to check them. Or is there a strong cleaner available that I can use with them installed?
My new radiator should be here Thursday and I plan to change it out this weekend. My Expy is a '98 5.4 4x4. It looks pretty straight forward. Is there anything special I need to look out for?
I'm on my 4th Expy after 2 Explorers. I bought my 98 16months ago when we closed/liquidated the business. We've always used the Expy's to travel from Kansas to Colorado and they've always been great. You can haul a ton of stuff in them and they've never let me down. Now that I'm retired and...
I replaced plugs and cop's in February. The cop's were the ebay ones everyone here recommends. For a while everything was super smooth but the last 3 months I've had a slight hesitation/miss part of the time. It's not enough to set a code. My question is if I take it to a mechanic will an engine...
Is your shifter sloppy? If so then the problem might be up under the dash and easy to fix. If the shifter is firm like it should be then I'd suspect the neutral safety switch.
When I bought my 98 last summer the rear air damper in the console was broke also. Rather than pay $70 for the controller I just opened the damper all the way and put a sheet metal screw in it. Now it works great and I always use the rear air or heat anyway so it's not a problem.
They make a cd cleaner that looks like a normal cd but has cleaning tabs on it. We keep one in the car and expy and run them whenever we start to have trouble. I'd give it a try before ditching the changer.
