My 2010 4WD averages around 13 when driving around town and that's not babying it. On the highway around 65 to 75mph it will average around 17. Not too far off. It just depends how it's driven in some cases as well as maintenance.
Any time I had a heat issue with my 03 was due to severely low coolant and the time the actuator behind the radio/glove box area failed. You can try slapping the underside of the dash area to see if the actuator frees up.
I have that problem from time to time. Mines was the steering wheel locking. Had to turn the wheel side to side pretty hard until I got the key to release.
What issues were you having? I'm not sure but I think mines may be leaking. The last week or so it worked, I would smell a little refrigerant in the cabin for a few seconds then it would go away. I haven't bothered finding a leak yet but was just thinking the worst with the evaporator core.
Unfortunately no. It idles a little better but it still gives me the P0171 and P0175 codes. I dropped my extension and socket on the backside of the engine and while trying to retrieve it, I stumbled upon water leaking from what I believe to be the intake manifold gasket on the passenger side. I...
Definitely looks like your phasers are going to need replaced along with a full timing job. I'm shocked that wasn't on the list of recommended maintenance. There's good info in this video here about it.

I have an update after doing my smoke test. The little cap on the IAC Valve was leaking smoke out badly and the EGR Valve was leaking smoke badly as well. I've replaced the IAC Valve before but never the EGR Valve. I know I could probably get away with just replacing the gasket but I'll feel...
I pulled number 6 plug a minute ago and has definitely been running rich on bank 2 as it was black but not wet. I replaced it and it seems to have smoothed out a little bit. I put a quarter tank of gas and fuel treatment and it and nothing really changed. While driving it, it has plenty of...
Thanks for your response. I replaced the intake manifold about 8 years ago because of the crack around the thermostat. It leaked water into the bank 2 cylinders and caused a lot of damage including misfires which lead to bad catalytic converters and somehow took out the IAC valve. I replaced it...
Thank you for your response! Yeah I pulled the vacuum line off of the dampener and it doesn't change anything or smell like fuel. I thought an intake gasket leak would catch the carb spray but it's possible enough is not getting to one of the ports. I guess I'll try to get a smoke test from a...
I need a little direction with my 03 Expedition 5.4 2V with 198K miles. Maybe someone has experienced something similar because it seems rare to have both P0171 and P0175 at the same time. This also triggers a misfire on cylinder 6 and it will give the P0316 also which is 1 or more misfire...
I'm really thinking about giving these a shot! The coilovers with the dampening adjustment and height adjustment sounds promising. It's just the difference in the lower part of the front shocks that gives me a little doubt. The girth change shouldn't be a problem just as long as the length is...
The 03 springs look identical to the 2010 springs. That's exactly why I'm thinking of trying the Belltech 929 kit for the 2010 as well. I would never do Ebay suspension again. I had an 04 Envoy a while back and put front shock assemblies on it. Didn't last very long and had the shock mount...
Exactly! Medium to large sized speed bumps are another thing to where I need to make sure I don't let it drop too fast off of the apex of the bump. The mud flaps are getting a little damaged from this. Do you have part numbers for the Belltech shocks or the year range to search them?
Well...
All interesting ideas you have here. I'm thinking about trying the same Belltech kit on my 2010 but not sure what's making the rebound so slow on the 03. It rides and turns good but hitting a deep dip at faster speeds leaves a bit to be desired in the suspension setup. It's not bouncy at all...
I lowered my 03 4WD with the Belltech 929 kit and Bilstein shocks. I thought the springs looked identical to the springs on my 2010 as well. Did you try the front Belltech springs at all before the F150 assemblies? I hesitated lowering my 2010 because of the Houston flooding but after getting...
Looks great! As soon as I move from flooding ass Houston to North of Dallas TX I'll lower my Gen 3. Here's my lowered 03 4x4. I kept the 2010 at stock height to make sure we had a vehicle that wouldn't have problems getting through water but surprisingly the 03 did well through high water. Just...
Try wiggling or pulling the PCM relay (R203) and reinserting it . You can also swap it with one of the other similar relays in the same row as it. They are all the same. This was my culprit with the same exact issue you have for a long time. It went from every once in a while to every time I...
I'd get 10 quarts of fluid to be on the safe side. I replaced my transmission bulkhead connector sleeve and filter on my 2010 and it took almost 10 quarts to refill it to the correct level. I initially started with 7 quarts and thought it was full after checking from just idling up to temp and...
I just took another look at my issue. I thought one fan was on constantly while the AC was on initially but when I checked again today it wasn't. Both fans will kick on for about 10 to 15 seconds to cool the condenser and radiator. That's when the high side pressure will drop to 170. After the...
Is the AC High Side supposed to drop when the high speed fan kicks on? It goes from 170 or so to about 370 then the high speed fan kicks on then goes back down to 170. The low side stays steady at 40 no matter what. The AC is cold the whole time but just checking to make sure this is normal.For...
Yeah definitely not fun to do on your back. It caused quite of bit of damage in my situation so now I check it more often to make sure it's not getting to that point. I changed the oil a few days ago and I felt a little play in it so now it's on my radar but there's no vibration so probably not...
