    Efan help

I have 97 EB 5.4 and am interested doing an efan conversion. I have searched around for some info but was hoping someone could direct me to a how-to. Especially on how to wire it up and attach the fans to the radiator. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Help with interior lights

I have a '97 and I pulled the plastic up from the bottom of the tailgate to get at the latch. There is a wire attached to the latch on the right side that you can unplug to not allow the interior lights to come on when the lift gate is open. I did not unplug the one for the lift glass so...

    VSS gear

I found the gear I needed at this place, in case anyone else needs it: http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speedometer_calibration_______va.htm

    Wheel stud

Thanks, I got it. One of the few things that have actually been easy and gone well for me with the vehicle so far.

    Wheel stud

Another slow down in my progress. I over tightened a front wheel stud and it snapped. How much work is it, and how much do I have to disassemble to put a new stud in? 1997 Expedition

    VSS gear

I wish I could just get a programmer and do both, but my truck apparently uses a gear for the speedo. Its supposed to be easy to change, if I can determine which one I need.

    VSS gear

I am putting larger tires on my 1997 EB this week (265/70/17 to 315/75/16) and would like some info on the VSS gear. I am pretty sure I have the 3.73 gears and want to replace the VSS gear to fix the speedo and shifting. Also, how do you figure out which gear you need? And maybe more...

    Lug nuts

The problem i was having was that a 3/4" hex was to big. I unfortunately already made the Advance and Autozone circuit, as well as some custom wheel shops, who only had 1 lug nut to sell me. Pep Boys had some but the of course theywere to wide as well. I found some spline nuts for narrow...

    Lug nuts

I was hoping it was just a pop the old stud out and put a bigger one in kind of thing. So I won't be going that route. The lug nuts on discount tire, which ones do i need, what are they called?

    Lug nuts

I have a 1997 Expedition that I am trying to put an old set of American Racing Atlas wheels on. The person I bought them from gave me his lugnuts, but they were the 14mm nuts, whereas my Expedition has the 12mm x 1.75 studs. The holes in the rim for the lugnuts are narrow and can only fit a...

    heater inlet house

I am now looking to flush my cooling system and purchased the Prestone flush kit. It instructs to put the T in the heater inlet house, but I have no idea which one it is on the 5.4. I see the hoses coming from the firewall, they then T off (which I assume is for the rear heat) and then they...

    oil, seafoam, and noisy

Maybe I am missing it, but the directions show that the Seafoam can stay in the oil indefinetly until dirty. But just in case, I went ahead and changed the oil and filter and I will see if it makes anything better. I just used cheap oil for the Seafoaming so I put decent stuff in this time.

Anyone know of a good how-to for changing the VSS gear and how to determine what new size i need?

    oil, seafoam, and noisy

I had to change the oil before I started it because some crap fell in there while trying to get the old dipstick tube out. So I changed the oil and seafoamed by putting it in the oil and threw the brake booster line. I plan on changing the oil again soon to get all the seafoam loosened...

    wheels

I had originally thought of doing a torsion twist and rear spacers and was advised to run either 16x8 or 17x8 rims. I have now decided to get a 3 inch body lift. With this lift, can I successfully run 16x10 rim with a 315's? If so, can I do it without the TT/spacers, or should I still do...

    oil, seafoam, and noisy

I just changed my oil for the first time and gave it a seafoaming. It seems to be running worse now than before now. Used to be be pretty smooth, now idles a little rougher and all the little knocks and what not are a little louder. In particular the one that sounds rhytmic in the area of the...

    torsion keys

Thanks all. I think I will try to use the stock keys for right now, if for no other reason than I have dumped alot more money into this thing lately than I had anticipated. Skyjumper, I admire your set up on your exp. I was wondering what the specs were on your wheels, as I saw in your...

    Suggestions, please.

Not really interested in hammering anything just yet. I have also decided to get a 3" body lift prior to purchasing the new tires and rims, hoping to be able to run 35's. Will this body lift change my wheel options or am I better off with the 8 inch still? Also, I just changed my oil for...

    torsion keys

Thanks for the reply. I guess what i am trying to ask, is which is better for the vehicle? I will be putting 2" spacers on the back, but i am not sure whether i should purchase keys for the front, or just crank the stock keys. I don't mind buying them if they are better, but don't want...

what about 16x10 wheels with 4 inch backspacing. going to rub anything? How are Aries or Hunter brush guards?

    torsion keys

I would like to add a couple inches to my 1997 Eddie Bauer. What is better for the vehicle, a leveling kit (daystar 3/2) or just rear slackers and cranking the stock keys? Any real difference?

    Suggestions, please.

Thanks for the replies. If I stick with an 8" rim, and put either 285's or 305's on it, will the truck still have a proportionate look? I would like it to push the tires out a little to give it a nice aggressive look, but nothing crazy. I am right outside Yorktown, so about halfway...
