Another slow down in my progress.

I over tightened a front wheel stud and it snapped.

How much work is it, and how much do I have to disassemble to put a new stud in?

Bundy, if you look, there should be a spot that you can line the hub up to that you can push the stud right out without having to remove anything. From there, you can press the new one into place using a modified C-Clamp or using a large vise and a deep well socket (granted, this would involve pulling the hub off of the truck to do it).

If you can get the stud to atleast get set far enough that it won't turn, then you can seat the stud when you tighten the wheel down. Just have to go above the recommended torque some to get the stud pulled into place.

Actualy they pull in better with the wheel off. Back in the old days of tapered lugnuts we simply turned it around backwards and pulled the stud in place using an impact air gun.:893karatesmiley-thu

Thanks, I got it.

One of the few things that have actually been easy and gone well for me with the vehicle so far.
