01 expy 5.4l engine removal help

Did it myself, both heads. You can do it in the truck but it is a pain! I would also change timing chains, plugs, wires, thermostat, and manifold studs. You should try to lock the cams in place to. You will also need sealant since a couple of bolts are in coolant passage ways. If you can...

2008 Limited - keep / get new one?

Yes and no. My old 99 with 115k was mechanically a POS. Nothing but issues after I hit 100k with it. My only reasoning is the prev. Owner had towed a extremly large snowmobile trailer to the UP yearly. My earlier response was assuming you had bought new or fairly close to. With the issues...

My does not have them either, however according to the book if it did have it the location would be on the climate control unit bottom left button. Hope I helped some.

2008 Limited - keep / get new one?

Without debating financials which is not my business. By a mileage perspective, if your current limited only has 56k on it I would keep it. My F150 has 120k and runs strong my expedition has 75k. Just my .02

    2003 EB rear liftgate cable

Thank you to jakespoon, my cable broke today and you saved me a ton of time with your part number. Located mine for $40.00 shipped. Seems to be the average going price for a $6.00 part.

    Heater Core Issues

Man, I'm sorry that is not a fun project. Core is cheap but as said very time consuming. I waited over a year to change mine. I wouldn't say it was easy, however I could think of worse projects like head gaskets.

    Exhaust manifold 98 Exp 5.4L

You should be able to see the nut and top of stud missing. Manifold leaks seem to be a common F150/expedition issue. Fixing them is not a fun project. Had to replace head gaskets on my 99 and replaced manifold studs at the same time. That project made me question my sanity.

what price did you pay for your expy?

2006 King Ranch awesome truck paid 17,500 with 70,000 miles. Not sure if I paid to much or to little searched for over a year for a replacement to my 99. Cheapest KR for the mileage in my area.

Need tires: Are theses ok to put on the tow vehicle?

I'm sure you have already made a tire decision at this point, however four of my past vehicles have run BFGs. Highly recommend, especially all terrains. Currently I have 285/70-17 on my F150 that I removed from my old expedition. They have 30,000 miles on them and still show great tread, no...

    New guy from East Texas

What up! Newbie also, low miles on yours very clean looking. Now ya gotta stuff some 285/70-17s on it. It's hard to find clean trucks here in the rust belt.
