If the plug looked new then you have 1 of 2 problems. You have an electrical issues controlling the injectors or your injector itself. That's assuming it didn't get fuel to the cylinder. If I did and it isn't burning the fuel then have an issue with the ignition system. I'm not a mechanic by...

If you buy a 30# you won't need the can tap but you will want to watch how much you put in. I usually pull a vacuum on the system and charge the whole system by weight.
If memory serves my correct the brake booster vac line should be tied into the dog house (white) and the other is to the evap system (red)....at least on lightning and HDs
