Do you trust your first gen?
Sadly, my '02 XLT 5.4 AWD (bought used on '05 w/31,000) has rusted to the point that she's no longer safe. The core support is gone, 4 of 6 body mounts are gone, the cargo area floor is rotted thru. The rear quarters are gone too..... It's unfortunate because, mechanically, she's still in great...- RGTFanatic

Good idle cold, low/stumble idle warm or hot
Hi Richard, you're very welcome. Apparently there are three TCC solenoids. One or more of mine were, in fact, faulty. I had my torque convertor replaced as well. I currently have the exact same problem with my '02 5.4 AWD. I suspect that its one or more of the TCC solenoids. I can feel the TC disengage when I begin rolling from a stop. My RPM's return to normal as soon as it disengages. FWIW, I have a 4R100 trans w/HD towing package.- RGTFanatic

Shocks for 2000 expedition 4x4
Just my 2 cents......... I think your tires are aiding in the problem. A 285/50-20 is going to be a very hard riding tire. Add to that the massive amount of weight on the front end of your expy and you have a recipie perfect for overworking the valving on the shocks. Has the truck been...- RGTFanatic

Right side higher than left
It may just be me, but it sounds like "load leveling" is the one aspect your air suspension is failing in. You can do the conversion AND add air bag assist that's completely in your control.- RGTFanatic

What did you do to the expy today
I'm new to the forum so I though this thread was a good place to start. I've had my Expi since '06. She has 195K on the odometer. Replaced the engine at 105K and the tranny at 175K. I was hit by an uninsured, drunk chick in July. I took that as a sign to start putting the old girl back together...- RGTFanatic
