    Possible 1234yf Contamination during recharge

I would pull the system down to vacuum and replace the refrigerant as a precaution. The two types are not compatible and AC systems are expensive to replace.

Looking to purchase 2016 or 2017 4wd-questions on octane, turbos etc

I have a 2017 and can confirm is does NOT use dual injection. Edge (Copilot probably) is either hallucinating or confusing model year with the year the model actually came out in. I.e. the 2018 model, AKA 4th gen, started selling late in 2017

Looking to purchase 2016 or 2017 4wd-questions on octane, turbos etc

No issues with the turbos on my 2017. Running 87 octane. I tried 91 but didn't notice any difference so stuck with the cheaper fuel.

    P2099 Turbo/Waste Gate

I thought that if you went to significantly higher altitudes you were supposed to use lower octane fuel. But the keywords are significantly higher otherwise use what the vehicle is rated for (87 even for the eco boost). What fuel were you using when in the mountains? Were you using 93? That...

    Txv valve location

I don't think you do. Standard procedure is pump it down to a vacuum and then add the required amount of refrigerant. It's all automated via the A/C machine.

    Another Recall For 2015 - 2017

Well I just got two recall letters from Ford. One saying the master brake cylinder part is in and I can schedule to have it replaced. The second saying I'm affected by the backup camera recall but to wait until parts are available.

    Repair Costs

With a repair bill that high, a second opinion is warranted.

    Another Recall For 2015 - 2017

So looks bad but my rear camera has gone all hazy. If I can get a new camera out of the recall then it's a win for me.

AC clutch - no 12V, Fuses and relay ok

I have a 2017 and had AC issues. The compressor died and was replaced. It was good until a week later and I started to get intermittent AC. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. After some diagnosis, it was determined that the (pigtail?) connector and its wires were bad. The...

I do this as well. I seem to recall that I had to use the keypad to lock though.

    Interior Lights Won't Go Out

OMG! Thanks you guys. That was it. Played around with the dimmer switch earlier this week. I guess I must have accidentally moved it into the permanently on position. Yeah, what a stupid design.

    Interior Lights Won't Go Out

Like the title says the interior lights won't go out. They stay on while driving which is super annoying at night. No lights on the dash indicating a door or the hatch is open. Running boards respond normally. Dash lights and the tail lights respond normally when opening and closing the door...

    Roof Rack Part

I have a kayak roof rack that clamps onto the factory crossbars. Due to an unfortunate incident involving my spouse and a multi-story parking garage things got banged up a bit. While the kayak rack survived the front crossbar got almost ripped out from the passenger side rail. The crossbar did...

    Yet Another AC Thread

I have a 2017 Limited, shorty. I had the AC compressor replaced earlier this summer because it was constantly blowing hot. Compressor had seized up. Fast forward a couple of months and the AC is acting up again. It intermittently blows hot instead of cold or sometimes hot all the time. Took it...

2017 AC Problems - Rear blows warm. Front not cold enough

Compressor seized. I had to get the system flushed and the desiccator replaced along with the compressor.

2017 AC Problems - Rear blows warm. Front not cold enough

Compressor was bad and was low on refrigerant

    Blower Motor recall personal experience

Ford will replace the motor when the new part is available. Which is not so much right now. Ford will also replace your blower motor with the same model if they see evidence of burning. You will still get the new part eventually. As for when the new part is available is anybody's guess right now.

2017 XLT - Air Conditioning Stinks

IIRC the blower motor recall is about the wiring overheating and possible burning. Not about how much air the fan can move. I have my truck in for AC service as it is completely non-functional this year. It was gradually getting weaker with each year. This year, it is totally gone. I too...

Folding mirror driver side not working Only passenger side works

I have a similar problem but on the other side. Noticed the puddle light is out on the same side as the mirror that won't fold.

2016 Expy - exhaust smell in cabin

Yep. Have the same issue. Smell only present when 3rd row windows popped out which I have quite often as I'm constantly hauling around my kids' hockey gear.

    2015-2017 owners question.

I would look for a 2017. Apparently the 2015-2016 models had turbo issues. 2017 turbos were much better. Well according to my mechanic

Thanks for the replies. I'm putting things on hold as temperatures have dropped considerable where I live. Hopefully on the weekend we'll see warmer weather
