Installed Bilstein 5100s and 4600s on my 2016. What I learned that will save you time

Update: after 72 hours of soaking with PB Blaster, the bottom shock bolt FINALLY gave up. I really wanted to do Bilsteins, but the corrosion/deterioration was so bad on the top nut that I couldn't disassemble without destroying the top hat. Ford uses THE WORST pot metal for these parts. I...

Installed Bilstein 5100s and 4600s on my 2016. What I learned that will save you time

I estimate the rear bottom shock bolt is on in excess of 400 ft-lbs. I base this estimate on: - Air gun didn't budge it. - I weigh 200lbs and stood on a 2ft breaker bar and didn't budge it. - I broke my 1/2 ratchet in the process. This after 2 days of soaking it in PB Blaster. I'm 47. I've...

Steers to the left under heavy braking

Problem solved! This, exactly. Yesterday when I was troubleshooting, I checked to see if I had a frozen piston. Right side pistons were hard to push back in. Left side was super easy.

Steers to the left under heavy braking

Amazing. The right side line was clogged. When I took it off from the caliper, hardly any fluid dripped out of it. With a new one on, it flowed like a river. I replaced both fronts, just because. I'll test drive it later this evening.

Steers to the left under heavy braking

Fascinating. I am currently having the EXACT same problem. Bad pull to the left with moderate/hard braking. I will check the lines tomorrow.

    "Service Advancetrac"

No idea. If I ever need to brake hard enough to activate the ABS, I'm doing something wrong. I think it may have just been a dirty sensor. I removed and cleaned it, and it seems to have reset and hasn't come back on. So far.

    "Service Advancetrac"

Well, yes, the internets turn up about a dozen things it *could* be. Ranging from ABS ring, speed sensor and steering angle sensor. Usually, its been my experience that there's one thing that is most common when things like this pop up. That's why I asked the forum. I pulled some codes that...

Newly acquired 2010 Expedition, I have O2 codes.

~130k miles, I am getting P0130 and P0150 codes. These are O2 sensors banks 1 and 2 codes. Conventional wisdom says replace the upstream O2 sensors. But I am also seeing mentions of a TSB to update the software to take care of it. What is the correct course of action? Matt
