    No 4H

4A and drive modes are great until you pack your undercarriage with so much snow that you lose ABS. No ABS, no drive modes. Found that out the hard way in a snow storm. 4A does still function, and locks up at lower speeds thankfully. At that point, it’s a hope and a prayer you make it. I’d take...

Can you hear your fuel pump prime?

Checked my work truck the other day and sure enough, I heard the pump prime... Now that my power running boards have been replaced and work, that’s all I hear. So maybe the power running board sound is loud enough to drown out the pump sound and that’s why I’ve never heard the pump before?

Can you hear your fuel pump prime?

My work F150 has only made the noise once that I’ve heard. I don’t drive it often but I’ve been paying attention after my Expedition start making the noise.

Can you hear your fuel pump prime?

Not my video, but my Expedition just started making this noise. I have no doubt it’s the fuel pump priming and getting the truck ready to start, but why did my Expedition just start making the noise this year? I found a thread on the F150 forum, most people just try and argue that all Ford...

    Dang, rear main seal leak!

Wow, 4 years... its hard to find a good parts department. Bought a used truck from Roblin in 2017. Only experience I have with any of those dealerships. At least you still have warranty, so if your local dealership screws it up, it’s not like you gotta pay for it. I guess its worth it to let...

    Dang, rear main seal leak!

So your options are: 1. You let the local dealership give it a try cause you still got powertrain warranty till 2024/100,000km(unless you upgraded that?). Then you have the possibility of repeating issues, or the creation of more issues if the job isn’t done right. 2. You travel to another...

    Falken Wilpeak AT3W vs. Cooper AT3 4S

Had Falken AT3Ws on my F250 and was not impressed with ice/hard packed snow traction. Snow traction was good but they sucked on ice. The truck would slide through stop signs that my Expedition on Goodyear Duratracs would just stop at.

    List of expensive repairs

05/18 build date, 27500 miles. No major repairs so far but lots of little things. Block heater not working, rear axle seal, security alarm would go off when I locked the doors, auto dimming rear view mirror failed causing my reverse lights to not work and the USB chargers in the center console...

    Will 285/55/20 tires fit

I’d pass on the Wildpeak AT3Ws unless they are significant cheaper. I put them on my F250 shortly before I sold it to my dad. I was disappointed with the ice traction. The truck would fight to stop at stop signs where our Expedition on Goodyear Duratracs would just stop. The F250 had some...

    Towing Gears - Best Practice

I started towing before 300 miles with mine, just over 25k now and no after effects. I’m not a person to just put the truck in tow/haul and let it do it’s thing. I watch gauges and find where the truck runs the best. For me, I find running in 7th is best for fuel economy with mine while towing...

I think I can buff it out...

looking through my pictures, I think you’re right and it does have grill shutters. They’re just so mangled and got lost in the pile of other broken parts that I didn’t see them. Thanks for pointing that out! I am definitely considering getting a grill guard now, if I can’t find something I...

I think I can buff it out...

I’m really glad my wife was driving the Expedition and not her car, otherwise she would have written off the car and possibly be seriously injured. She still has whiplash but that’s much better than being hospitalized from having the deer land inside the car. The deer was a large buck, probably...

I think I can buff it out...

No air bags deployed. The deer was still alive, its front and back legs on the side she hit were destroyed. I had to end the deer's suffering.

I think I can buff it out...

The actual crash bar is untouched. Purely cosmetic and some mechanical. It pushed in the rad and broke the one elbow and dumped all the coolant.

I think I can buff it out...

My wife smoked a deer 3 miles from home this morning. She is ok, a little sore. It's a good thing I wasn't working today and was able to go bring her our car so she could get to work.

    Hikari led bulbs installed

Exactly! I’ve even had my Expedition slightly squatted from towing my enclosed trailer and never been flashed with my Hikari low beams.

Downsizing from 22" wheels... 20" or 18" w/ CCD suspension

A guy in my town has stock F-150 18s on his platinum with CCD suspension. I also went to 18s on my Limited with standard suspension. I prefer the softer ride of more sidewalk and I think they look better too.

    Xmas gifts for your Expy?

Just bought some Hikari LED low and high beams for mine, and an elm327 device compatible with FORscan to turn that annoying double horn honk off!

    Tire pressure...

I run 55psi in my LT275/65r18 Duratracs. I know they’re not bigger than stock but mine came with the 275/55r20s.

Maximum Tire Size - No Lift/Level

A coworker has a 2017 with 275/65r20s completely stock, I doubt they would fit on my 2018 stock. I think a 33” tall tire no wider then a 295 should fit with the right offset. I run stock size 275/65r18s on an 18x9 wheel with a +10 offset (5.4” backspacing) so my tires stick out and I could...

    Expedition Alternative

I to was scared of the ecoboost but mine hasn’t had any issues in 12k miles. The fuel economy is subpar when under load and I tow fairly often. But right now I’m visiting some family and decided to fly and then rented a 2019 Tahoe. I can tell you that the 5.3 is slow compared to the ecoboost and...

    TPMS

I got a deal on mine because I bought them with the tires but mine were bought from a Ford dealership so they're oem. I only paid around $260 Canadian with the purchase of tires (about $200USD). I'd also suggest checking rockauto.

    Wheels

Just get some 24s already! Just stick with a tire with a lighter load range and it shouldn't kill your ride.

    Thoughts on this combination?

My mudflaps aren't very thick but I got no rubbing with 275/65r18 Duratrac's on 18x9 +10 offset. My rims are a 5.4" backspacing while yours will be about 6.4" backspacing. That means yours will be tucked in 1" more than mine, which means they "shouldn't" rub either but I'm not 100% sure.

    Rear hatch operability

Maybe you guys aren't as dumb as me but I found out, after multiple times of trying to open the hatch by kicking, that you need to have the key with you when you open it with the kicking method. No key, no kicky-open. After I found that out, it works for me almost all the time.
