2011 Exped. Need to move it while not started. There's a little cap and hole next to the shifter on the right side of it. I removed the cap with a small screwdriver but there is nothing down there to push on to disengage the transmission. That's how I recall it working in other vehicles.

Have any of you ever installed an AC bypass pulley in their Gen 3 Exped, specifically, a 2011?
My compressor went out for the 3rd time in 2 years. The first replacement went out while under warranty. This last time, just AFTER the warranty went out. I need to sell the vehicle but want it at...
I don't mind looking stupid as long as I learn from it each time. When you asked this question, it struck me that they had not necessarily been changed when we got it at 93k. At 150k now, it was time to do so. I thought it had been running ragged lately...
... Fast forward a few hours...
I appreciate it. I'm going to check with another Ford dealer and see if he can at least look at it.
Well, Ford dealer. (But you may be right.) Replaced everything, lines and everything. Loaned me 3 new navigators over three months last summer. I think it's shoddy rebuilt compressor.
Hi y'all. I did a search on this forum for "P2096" as well as the full message in the thread title (post catalyst system too lean bank 1) and haven't found what I need.
I have a 2011 Exped with only 150k on it that has given us its fair share of problems over the years. However, when it runs...
Hey guys, sorry I didn't respond sooner. Decided the tires were bad enough to be dangerous. Won't sell until summer and if we don't sell it as quick as we'd like... We have a big trip planned this summer.
Appreciate the feedback.
Thinking it's time to replace the '11 Exped this summer. Needs new all-season tires, though. Don't want to spend the money but I need something. I don't think you necessarily get your money out of having new tires when you sell it in this condition. Probably better to have like-new tires on...
Thanks for everyone's help here. I believe I should have done this one myself but I already had to do my Escape which was a little more urgent bc my two daughters were going on a trip. (I replaced the condenser and accumulator and the AC is frigid!).
The end result is an expensive dealer repair...
My wife picked up the Expedition after it's AC service was complete only to call me 20 minutes later and day it wasn't coming at all. Grrr. Waters my whole Friday going back and forth to the dealer.
So, I haven't looked at it yet but the dealer said it's not bad enough that it's urgent... I'll...
The dealer told me it was the track and an $1100 part plus 10 or 20 hours to fix (by the Ford book). I don't recall if it was 10 or 20. I just knew were going to do without a sunroof.
After reading your posts, though, there may be life after dealer.
Nothing like that from what I could tell. It went from working to not working just like that. It did however, quit working when the womenfolk in my life (wife/daughters) were driving. I wasn't present.
So, I replaced the condenser and accumulator/dryer yesterday. Went pretty smoothly. Pulled a vacuum on the system and it only drew it down to -18 (where everyone on youtube seems to get it to -30. The vacuum pump had water vapor coming out which I assumed was the result of air moisture in the...
I'm already getting ready to pay 1200 bucks for new AC compressor and some other work at the dealer on my 2010 LTD. He just texted me that his guy found my rack and pinion is leaking from both ends.
I'm already watching youtube to see if I can do this work myself. What do you think?
One...
JExp, I should clarify. I'm just switching out the condenser and dryer, not the compressor.
"Chris's fix"on youtube says to add it... So I saw it on the internet. :)
I really never thought about the oil needed for an AC system until I started looking at replacing the compressor in My Expedition. However, I'm currently replacing the condenser and the dryer / accumulator in my Ford Escape and bought refrigerant but wondered if I need to add oil to the system...
Yeah, for sure. I now turn my attention to my Escape, the AC condenser of which has failed. This is covered in another thread somewhere here. I have the parts I need except for possibly some seals or gaskets. I have to concentrate and determine what I need now so I can tackle it in the morning. :|
Sorry and thanks, guys. I ended up bringing to a dealership. A place that's bailed me out before.
They are also going to secure and disable my sunroof, the track of which broke, and replace a trim part. After all that, estimate we be $1300.
(The part for the sunroof was going to be $1100 with...
I recall being able to go online to a site like 'retailmenot.com' and finding 40%-50% coupon codes for Advance Auto. I'd order my parts, pick up in store 10 minutes later. Sweet.
Now, it seems most of the coupon codes are no more - not 40-50 percent anyway. They've got "speedperks" which I...
Thanks. It's been raining on/off the last two days and my in-laws' farm shop has been full of equipment so today is the first day I'll get a chance to look at it.
Can I get it evacuated even if I'm not ready to do the rest of the work? (Shop might be able to do it today but I can't get parts...
