After 30k miles, my BFG KO2's (OEM Raptor take-offs) were nearing the end of their usable life. Not to mention getting noisy. Wanting to switch it up a bit, I went in a different direction looking for more comfort.
I picked up a set of OEM F-150 Sport wheels that were new take-offs for a...
No I did not have the Bilsteins on with the RL. I wouldn't recommend the RL over the Bilsteins because of the severe upper control arm angles and decreased downward travel which resulted in a rough ride, exaggerated top-heavy feeling, and decreased wheel travel off road. Others have described...
I just switched from the RL 3/2 spacers to the Expedition specific Bilstein 5100's front (24-285056) and rear (24-285063) on my 2018 XLT (non-CCD obviously). The only thing I regret about making the switch is not doing it sooner! Before I removed the RL spacers, I measured from the center of...
So what's the consensus on spring perch settings front/rear on the Expedition specific Bilstein 5100's? I have a set being delivered today to replace my RL 3/2 and would like to get them set right the first time.
It looks like a lot of people are setting the fronts to max (1.6") and the...
It's a quality awning, for sure. Biggest benefit is that it sets up so quickly compared to my Foxwing. Biggest gripe is that I can no longer open the rear hatch fully with the awning extended. I'll see if I can adjust it to fix that this weekend.
Sure. I'll post some today.
Yep, I can do...
Have any shots with the Icon UCAs? Curious what kind of clearance is gained over stock with the Icon UCA's. I'm seriously tempted to give this system a shot. The RL 3/2 ride quality is slowly wearing me down.
Very nice! I run the Yakima Jetstream crossbars and they're pretty quiet. They go on and off easy, too. My OVS 270 shipped last Friday. Hoping to get it installed sometime this week and test it out!
I got tired of the inopportune openings and disconnected the sensor inside the rear bumper. No more kick to open feature but I no longer have to worry about when the hatch is going to randomly pop open.
We use our awning all the time, as well. Yes, even in our driveway for drinks with neighbors! I have to say that OVS system looks really great. I like the that it's mostly self-supporting and the support poles are integrated into the awning supports. I'm going to do some more reading on it...
I will say the tires performed great @ 16psi. The awning is a Rhino Rack Foxwing. I also have the RV5 tagalong tent that attaches to it. Really great system.
Took it to the beach! 1300 miles with dozens of miles of deep sand driving. Even pulled out a Jeep and towed it 5 miles through sand. Expedition handled all with ease and comfort!
