Who has put the Expedition shocks on both the front and the rear? I’m understanding they give about 1.6" front and back in lift?

You guys need to be measuring from the center of the wheel to the fender. It takes the tire out of the equation.

Need a full ride report in the ICON’s.

Ha! I'm just giving the people what they want. Seems like the cool thing to do in this thread. Will only have pavement time to feel them out for a week, but going up to my cabin next weekend and will bump them around a bit and report back.

Your ride looks great.

I measured the front after 2 wks (post set of expy bilsteins install) & it has settled losing 1/4" of lift (center of fender is sitting 38" from the ground) . Very happy with the end result. I no longer need ramps/jack to do oil changes! Put a 3' level on my running boards & she is sitting almost laser beam level.

Yes, the best, most accurate way to measure your lift is:
1) from the center of the hub before, then after to the fender (centered) to show actual lift so as to compare apples to apples.
The second way, which shows total lift if you added taller tires: 2) is from ground to top of fender.
Some folks go ground to top of side steps, but this can have other variables (more useful to determine before and after rake).

And it is critical that you measure it in the same parking spot/area before and after (mark it if you have to) so all four tires are on as level ground as possible. All of my measurements were same exact spot, full furl tank, w/o gear or people in it.

So what's the consensus on spring perch settings front/rear on the Expedition specific Bilstein 5100's? I have a set being delivered today to replace my RL 3/2 and would like to get them set right the first time.

It looks like a lot of people are setting the fronts to max (1.6") and the rears one notch down from the top (1.1"). I may be wrong, or it could just be the perspective from the photos, but this setting appears to leave the front end a bit higher than the rear. I'd prefer a more level stance or, if anything, I'd prefer the rear to be slightly higher than the front.

Anyone have a level side shot of their Expedition with the Bilsteins set to max height front and back? Also, if you have center of hub to fender measurements, that'd be much appreciated!

Does installing these Bilstein 5100 Expedition shocks alter the max towing capabilities on Expys with the heavy duty towing package?

No. Shocks do not determine towing capacities.

What about rear ended squat? I’m having my shocks done soon. Going with factory ride height. But I’m curious if these Bilsteins will change the hitch drop I need when towing. My boat is 8500#s
