My ABS light was on due to a wire on the front bearing hub having rubbed through. It has the ABS sensor built into it. Hub needed replacing anyway, replaced it, light off!
I just went through this. I changed plugs and wires and it was still stumbling. turns out i hadn't gotten 2 of the wires seated on the plug. they rubber boots and the awkward locations make it tough to know that they are locked down 100%.
I had to do this repair and it turned out the ABS light was caused by a cut wire on the sensor that is built into the hub assembly. 2 birds fixed with 1 stone.
