Yeah I added a 275 amp Singer alt in my (2003 Expy XLT RR) and I had to leave to wire that connect the battery light off. Or else he said the alt could burn out my PCM or worst. I have the same issue. Its most likely what I have a front main seal leak. Just keep an eye on the fuilds but you can drive it fine as is.- Cooper

Hamfisted showed me that stop picture after I had installed mine and I realized I had the bar on backwards. Bolted end should face backwards. I had a slight clucking noise too when I was riding down the driveway, didnt hear it on the main road though. I put the on the right way and all was well...- Cooper

Missing and bucking at 40
Double check the coils and especially the wiring. I had a lil chaff on one are it was giving to truck a slight shimmer. I'd get the catalyst convertor check too make sure its brething right.- Cooper

Is it even worth it?
OK I was changing the oil this morning, when I notice some leakage from the trans bell housing, right where that rubber grommet is. Did some searching and found that it is indicative of bad front/rear crankshaft seals. I already have a rear pinion seal leak and tons of rust. With 135k is it...- Cooper

Alternator or battery?
The exact same thing happen to my wifes 07. It was the alt and since the battery was overly wet on the caps I changed that too. Twoyears later no issue. But I get your point of finding out root causes but, some times its just good ole parts failure.- Cooper

Possessed '05 Expy?
I don't know about the alarm going off. But when I first bought my 03 XLT... Everytime it would rain heavy it would run rough and a few times the cheak engine light would blick. I put in new plugs, coils, and O2 sensors and it have never did it since. I was stabbing in the dark but it worked.- Cooper
