Sun Roof sagging and leaks in car wash

I might try the shim, but I don't think it will solve the problem. The shim will push the center up, making the weatherstripping and the metal line up better. That might help, but there is not a tight seal between the weatherstripping and metal, it's just there. I guess when it's new or not...

Sun Roof sagging and leaks in car wash

Thanks for the responses. I adjusted it with the 2 screws on each side, very easy. But it really does not change "sage" part. the adjustment raised the 2 back corners some and the middle. So maybe it's the best it can be for now. The weatherstripping is original so it's probably a little...

Sun Roof sagging and leaks in car wash

Thanks for the input. I check that before I try the shim. Thing is, it's doesn't leak in normal weather. Or not enough that the drainage does not take care of it.

    What is your average MPG?

I have 2011 XLT 2wd with 176K miles. Just had the plugs changed for the first time, ever. Went from about 17 mpg to about 18.5 mpg. But easy Florida highway miles.

Sun Roof sagging and leaks in car wash

I have a 2011 Expedition and I noticed that when I go through the car wash the sun roof leaks with the high pressure water. I understand that the sun roof is "supposed" to leak some and there is a water drain. That seems to work ok. It's when this high pressure water comes down, it squirts...

    Maintenance Advice

wow, this went sideways real fast.... OP here, I didn't bold the "she" part in the original response, it was just part of the response. In fact, I didn't know any better, so I was just as ignorant as the counter person about the plugs. Anyway, thanks for all the input. Back-in-the-day, I...

    Maintenance Advice

Thanks for the input. The Ford counter person was wrong or not really looking at the exact year when she talked about the plugs breaking off and the extra $$. Seems like the easy thing to do. David

    Question?

I had the window issue in my 2011. It also started to go up slower and slower. It took about a year, but eventually it stopped going up all together and needed a new window motor. They may have changed something else out too when for the going down at the top issue, I'm not sure.

    Maintenance Advice

The Dealer says they are two-peace, but maybe the counter person is wrong. They also assume at least 4 will break and will be extra $50 for each one. they talked about how they get them towed in from other shops because the other shops don't know how to remove the peaces once they break. I've...

    Maintenance Advice

Hi all, New member here, but long time lurker. I’m looking for a little advice about by 2011 Expedition. I bought it in 2012 with about 25K miles. It’s been pretty much trouble free, and still is. I’ve maintained it for the most part, oil/lube, front struts (twice), O2 sensors, window...
