    Good points for sure. But there is no better alternative IMO. For this size and class of vehicle, this kind of power and torque, fuel economy etc the answer still came back as Expedition. I guess I need to consider the extended warranty.

    thanks for this detail. Except for cam phasers I probably wouldn’t be too unhappy with these repairs at that mileage. The vehicle is great and it would be the price to pay I guess. I knew going in that this isn’t a Toyota and that is ok since it is such a great vehicle to drive.

    I guess an extended powertrain warranty might be a good idea. Any electrical issues to worry about? Sometimes those can be a pain to resolve.

    So far sounds like the cam phaser issue is the one to worry about. Drop and swap parts replacements are usually easier to deal with. Wouldnt the cam phaser issue appear in other applications of this engine eg. in the trucks too?

    There was no official previous owner as it was an executive demo. I see that I have no ESN for the modem. Wondering if pulling the modem fuse will solve this.

    Just bought a 2019 expedition. Installed the app and entered the vehicle vin etc. But no activating message shows up in the expedition. Dealer told me to master reset the settings, that did not help. Any one else had this issue?
