From my experience it is the IWE used to engage the AWD. It happened to my 2019 Expedition several years ago. I thought I had a rock lodged in the brake. I shifted in and out of AWD and that seemed to solve it. Hasn't happened again even years later. If that doesn't work then replacing the...
I tried the electrically conductive adhesive, but it didn't hold. I bought a soldering iron and some solder. Fixed in 5 mins. It has held for two years now.
I have a 2019 Expedition, and definitely experienced the hard upshifting and downshifting in the 3-4-5 gears at low speeds and light throttle. Speeds around 15-30 mph. It happened often when driving through neighborhoods. I took it in under warranty and they reprogrammed it according to TSB...
No, I have not gotten it fixed. The headliner would probably have to be pulled down to find the rattle source. That's a big job and could cause a lot of other issues. I'm just dealing with it and hoping someone else on the forum has an easy solution.
I have likely have the same noise coming from that same area in my 2019 Expedition Max. The odd rattle sound comes from just behind the second row by the garment hanger area in the headliner. It only rattles when the temp is less than 40 degrees and going over bumps. I can also recreate the...
This problem appears to be an issue on all makes of cars, hence all of the aftermarket solutions to the problem. Ford ESP denied me as well, frustrating. I tried the adhesive kit, which failed. I soldered it back on myself. It was an easy fix, you won't break the glass either. Take the little...
#4. I have a 2019 Expedition, when it's cold out and there is a lot of exhaust billowing up, if I walk past the liftgate with the fob, it gets very confused. It will open part way then stop, then shut, then open, etc. The exhaust is obviously triggering the sensor in my case. I suspect this is...
I've experienced the same rough shifting behavior, especially in neighborhood driving at low speeds. Please reference TSB 21-2357. My dealer performed the services listed in the TSB. I haven't had an issue for 8 months.
I've had metal valve stems, fail on me due to corrosion. I was checking pressures one day and it snapped off in my hand. The tire obviously lost all of its air immediately. For this reason I don't like metal stems.
I was never impressed with the Hancooks that came on our Expedition Max. Seems like like the tread pattern was more for mud, not rain or snow. I live in MN and they were terrible in snow. I always had to use AWD when snow was on the ground. Turning on snow covered intersections was an adventure...
I also have a weird rattle coming from the roof. I thought it was coming from the crossbars or roof rack runners, however that's not the case. I've isolated the site of the odd rattle to the driver's side, 3rd row (2019 Expy Max), just behind the clothes hanger of the headliner. The rattle only...
I have the same issue as well. If I pound on the area by the coat hook, on the headliner, just behind the second row on the drivers side, I can recreate the sound.
