    2004 Ford Expedition for sale

Yes, exactly. I believe the console is out of an ambulance chassis, resold after being taken out in lieu of a console built for lights/siren controls. Unfortunately, I don't have the tow mirrors anymore. They didn't work out very well, and were actually very poor quality. They vibrated so...

    2004 Ford Expedition for sale

Grille guard was made by Sterling Equipment out of Florida. They custom make them to your specifications, and I have been very happy with mine. And the center console is actually out of a Super Duty, since my truck didn't come with one when I bought it.

    Got my truck painted

Yes, the push bumper is for the 2004 model year. I believe that any push bumper from 2003-2006 should fit though.

    Got my truck painted

Yes, the push bumper does move around a bit. Not enough to create an issue though. As for the black wheels, I have been thought about painting the original steel wheels black. I will have to reconsider it now. :)

    Got my truck painted

I can't quite remember what you mean by that. I drilled throught the top of the reverse housing straight down, and dropped the bulb down through the hole.

    Got my truck painted

For the reverse lights: At first, I welded some cheap driving lights to the hitch receiver. But I wasn't very happy with that route, and I drilled some holes in the reverse light housing. I put the halogen bulbs in the holes. It works pretty well.

    Got my truck painted

To start, I rewired the brake lights to all get power from the CHMSL circuit, so they no longer flash as turn signals. Then, I ran wires from the front, sending power directly to the turn signals in the back. That way, they only act as turn signals and not brake lights. I used the...

    Got my truck painted

    2. Around 20 minutes, give or take. 3. The mirrors I have now are the OEM mirrors that came on my truck.

    2. I cut until the base fit. 3. My mirrors now are heated, but do not have the turn signal.

    Got my truck painted

    1. The cross bars were not on the truck when I bought it; I assume they were removed by the police department. 2. I used a dremel with the mini drum sander attachment to enlarge the holes on the taillights. 3. I have the OEM mirrors back on, although I painted the glamor cap gloss black to...

    Instrument Cluster Swap

I have a 2004 Expedition without the message center. It has the boring, plain instrument cluster, and I want to swap in a newer cluster out of a 2006. I have a few questions about that. If it has the message center (Which I am not sure that it does), will I still be able to see my...

    My 3rd mod: Landing lights

Yes, I have installed strobes into several different vehicles. Personally, I prefer to run the cables underneath the step plates inside the vehicle. I've run plenty of wiring in my Expy, and there should be enough space for several cables. I would not run the cables under the vehicle, because...

    My 3rd mod: Landing lights

Yes, I sell emergency lighting as well as install it onto vehicles for customers. I am a dealer for Tomar, Nova, and Whelen.

    My 3rd mod: Landing lights

I understand. The bigger brands cost a lot more than equivalent Speed Tech lights, especially Tomar. But, if you like them, thats what matters.

    My 3rd mod: Landing lights

Speed tech lights are nowhere near the quality as the more expensive lights such as Tomar, Whelen, Sound-Off, etc. I would never buy from them, especially because they knock off the designs of other lights.

How is wiring run front to back in an Expy?

A lot of the wiring is run underneath the sill plates on either side of the vehicle.

    '03-'06 Expy trim question

The grille is the stock XLT one; I did not paint it. SSV means, as ELVATO said, Special Service Vehicle. It is basically a police package vehicle that is not pursuit-rated.

The grille guard is a Smittybilt modular model.

    '03-'06 Expy trim question

I have a 2004 SSV (equivalent to an XLT), which had grey trim when I bought it. Since the truck was black and white, I had it repainted all black, including the trim. http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/EXPYSSV/2004%20Ford%20Expedition%20SSV/New%20Paint/?action=view&current=102_2552.jpg

The only mod is to enlarge the hole for the reverse bulb. The light itself will fit the truck with no problem.

I got aftermarket lights off of eBay. I have had pretty good luck with them so far. The beam pattern is good as well. eBay Link These are the same lights that I have, but I'm not sure what seller I bought them from.
