i was rear ended as i was going 60 mph on the freeway by someone going 100 mph. my rear bumper and hitch was pushed down a foot and bent the frame down where it all connects. it also buckled the left and right back qrts and bent the body down a bit where it buckledthe qrts. it was a brutal hit on me and then i was hit by anothewr vehicle in the drivers door at 60. lucky i was in such a big vehicle. i hope its not totalled but i dont know if the frame end can be bent back to normal to re-attatch everything. both the back doors open and close fine, with only a slight tight fit on the passenger one, altho both doors dont line up at the bottom (the door sticks out now). looking underneath, there is what appears to be a long black fuel pump tucked up under a frame rail on left side. it brokethe bracket and shiftedthe pump up and squished the wriing but its not leaking. the fule pump shutoff ddnt trip either which surprised me. i did drive it home and all seems to be well cept for the alaignment is off from spinning donuts 3 times at 60 mph (AND IT DIDNT FLIP OVER!)

I am glad you and the Ford survived!!!!

I have sooooo many people who give me crap because I drive such a "big" fuel wasting dangerous vehicle (blah, blah, blah).

BUT THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DRIVE IT. I want to live and most of all I want my family to be safe!! There are a lot of crazy folks on the road, and driving the Exby is one gun in my arsenal to ensure that that I am the one that lives through an incident such as the one you went through.

BTW - what hit you?

14k for a new frame (even tho it is only bent at the tail end of each side where the hitch connects), it drives fine and tracks fine. another 5k for the door, fender and back qrtrts and misc crap. its over the 75% for insurance value so its gonna be totaled (i wouldnt want them putting a new frame on as im sure once it all back together its gonna squeek and not be like a factory job). the body guy said because the frame is creased downwards by law they cant pull it out, but he told me it could be pulled out and be just fine, altho not as strong as original. he said if we didnt have the factory trailer hitch, the frame would have been fine. im gonna buy it back from insurance and fix it myself and it will be fine. i can live with a crease in the back qrts as the doors open and close fine. girl that hit me was 17.

oh, it was a 96 honda civic that hit me. approx speed according to body guy was a 45 mph impact which would make her at 110 mph

All i saw was the civic about 100 yards in front of me with the front end ripped off of it. I heard there were 2 girls in it and it was towed, but havnt heard if anyone was hurt or not or how bad. I called 3 lawyers and all 3 blew me off. I guess since i didnt have anything broken they dont wanna mess with it, even though my back, neck and leg are trashed.

I have given up on the smucks at the Ford dealer body shop on getting me an estimate after almost 2 weeks. I have gone in 3 times with the Expedition and cant get anybody there to get an estimate done while I wait (they write it all down after going over the Expedition for 30 minutes, but cant seem to write a estimate up or put it in their computer). Aftertalkingto my insurance company they told me not to even take it to Ford as they rip everybody off. I went to a very large reputable shop in my area and they wrote it up while i waited in 45 minutes. It came to 12.5k (Ford said over 20k). I will never go back to Ford for anything! My Expedition will be in the shop 28 working days for all the work and a new frame.
