Hi all I am a new guy in the process of getting a BLACK '03 to '06 Expy. I have been looking at many and it seems that most comes with contrasting grey or beige bumpers/wheel flares/door lowers. I am interested in an all-black one, like this in the picture -

Can some of you seasoned expeditioneers tell me if this is just one of many factory trim options or did someone painted them?

The all black only came in the Limited version of the expy, how ever you can get the regular XLT version and paint them with HIGH quality plastic paint.

Limited = Trim same color as the car, white, black, red, etc (factory painted)

XLT = contrasting grey like you mention on all color.

Yea, you'd want a Limited if you want all black.

The Eddie Bauers come with the cleared tan color.

The XLTs come with the plastic trim. You could paint them with Krylon Fusion paint, and come out with pretty decent results.

There's a member here (I think it's smooth or something like that) who has a black Expy with trim. He painted it, and it came out great. :)

S'NUT yes that is what I am looking for. Your truck looks nice! I think all black makes it look "stealthy" whereas those EB trims make them look like wholesome family cars.

Your grille looks anodized black, is it factory or did you painted that also?

And what is a "SSV"?

If I were to take a guess, Special Service Vehicle? Basically, like a cop car, right?

The grille is the stock XLT one; I did not paint it. SSV means, as ELVATO said, Special Service Vehicle. It is basically a police package vehicle that is not pursuit-rated.
