I am a Mazda/Hyundai Tech, But I need to do a timing chain on the listed vehicle above.

When i read the instructions from All Data it says that i need to use the Special Tool for holding the valve.
All I want to do is replace the timing chains,tensioners,phasers and guides

MY Question Is Do I need to do anything to the valve train in order to replace the Components???? Beside holding the cams from flipping. {turning}

The tools it says I need to use As follows:303-1039 valve spring compressor;303-1046 cam phaser sprocket locking tool and 303-448 Crank shaft holding tool.

First off, I honestly don't know the answers to your questions because I haven't done the 5.4 chain yet. However your post has me wondering about my truck.

Mine has 147,000 miles on it. I doubt the chain's been messed with. How big of a project is it? Should I start worrying about mine being stretched or breaking? I'm guessing more than one chain is involved so, how many are there and are they all in the front?

Thanks!!
