Truck low on mid range power, will trigger CEL, blinks and then stays illuminated. Light will go out on it's own but will have low mid throttle power around 2,200 RPM. It is back to showing cylinder three misfire again and have read a few threads related to this reoccurring code for #3. Any idea's guys, have done coil and plugs. When power is removed from #3 coil the engine misses the same as the others.

You have a miss in #3. Try switching the coil and plug with another cylinder and see if the miss follows. If so, try switching the injector. If it persists you need to do a compression test on that cylinder to check for a valve train or head gasket problem.

He said he changed all the coils and plugs. He needs to define exactly what he did and more info.

Have swapped for a new coil, keeps returning to issue with #3. engine idles perfectly and has no issues at freeway speeds. The issue is in the 2,200 rpm range when accelerating.

Have you replaced the rubber boot and spring along with the coil and plug?

Other possibilities include injector failure, valve train problems and low compression.

Good minds think alike.

Probably not compression you’d be getting issues higher in the rev range then. I’d replace the boot and spring and go from there those go all the time and it’s a few bucks. If you got anything on the spring like oil it’s no good anymore. They don’t conduct for crap after. I got WD40 on one and had to replace it lol.

Ignition coil connector? Try wiggling the connector while the engine's idling...

Thanks for reply's, did put on complete coil, boot and spring. Will double check coil connector, have seen a couple people have had this #3 issue but no solution that I have seen. Might need to see if coil is getting the full twelve volts at mid throttle, Msport has a good idea to track down.

As many have said, it's the injector. Looking elsewhere is looking for what it won't be

I had intermittent misfires on my 07 until I replaced all of the pigtails going to the coils. I think a pack of 8 was around $20 and it took me under 2 hours to cut, solder, and shrink wrap them. #4 and #8 were a PITA to do.

I had a miss like that, did all the same stuff, turned out the connector on the injector had broken during the engine swap and worked its way loose.

maybe you should try cleaning the contacts for the coil and injector. the pulse from the pcm can not go through corrosion or grime.
