Hello all new to the forum and I checked all 24 pages and not one q/a to this thread so if anyone has any insight on if I can swap out my oem 6 disk cd head unit from my 07 expy limited w/o sync with an 06 Ford Explored nav head unit with sirius receiver, antenna and GPS antenna along with the 06 nav map disk.

What I am getting at is this basically plug and play? I know I will need to run the antennas not concerned about that just want to know if I put this unit in will it work and would I need to take it back to the dealer to unlock?

Any help would be much appreciated

Any NAV unit that didn't come specifically from another Expy would have to be programmed to your vehicle, otherwise some features or lighting may not work.

Ok so just to be clear this will work but all I would need to do is take it back to the dealer and have them reprogram the head unit thats all dont seem all that bad.

So would do you have any idea what the charge is to reprogram the GPS? ballpark..

Yes, it should physically mount in your dash and all plugs should attach to the existing harness (antenna, speakers, subwoofer ) but the big hang up will be the programming. I would check with the dealer first to see if they can reprogram the unit, most can't or don't know how. There are other places that do it. Do a search for United Radio, as I believe they do reprogramming. I would think in the $100 range would be acceptable.
