07 with cyl 6 misfire help

2007 expedition - changed all the plugs with HT1 platinum and also changed the coil on cylinder 6 - i looked up that cyl 6 was the 2nd one from front of engine on driver side

pass driver
firewall
4 8
3 7
2 6 ****
1 5
grille of front

took off the fuel rail on driver side and did a professional cleaning of the injectors
1. with injectors off completely - filled each with seafoam
2 hooked battery charger to + and - nodes of the injector
3 at the same time used compressed air and made it all blow thru

yes you can use this idea as it works to really clean an injector
just bump the + on the battery charger to get it to open close open close

---- With all that said it still throws code that cyl 6 is misfiring
i also took a test light to the plug and it is pulsing a light off of 6

help - i need to get this inspected soon and it wont pass like this.

Swap the #6 coil with one from another cylinder and see if the code moves to the other cylinder. If so, the COP is bad (even new ones can be bad). If not, check the electrical connection to see if there are bad wires or a bad connector/clip.

i took 5 and changed the coil on plug with 6 and 6 still throws code misfire.

the plug is good and tight

i checked it and there is 12 volt to it pulsing

what else could it be >?

doesnt any one have an answer on this ?

07 expedtion with cyl 6 misfire
changed plugs
changed out all coil on plugs
took off fuel rails and cleaned all the fuel injectors
cleared code
and drove it
now says cyl 6 misfire again
checked compression on 6 and its the same as on 3

HELP please

update for today

moved the cyl 6 fuel injector to 3
got the same code after clearing it
put in hi octane gas and also seafoam

it works until you get on it like from 40-75 mph

then it flashes check engine and goes out pending probably
and after 2-3 times it stays orange

i checked all im monitors and they all are ok
i have no incompletes

any other ideas ?

only code is cyl 6 misfire
and it runs ok cold
when it gets warm and we get to 45+ mph it comes on

Sounds like a tricky one besides a intermitten wire failure to your cop or injector im thinking maybe debri in the fuel port were the injector goes into your intake did you try to put another sparkplug in number 6 ive had them bad from the package before.

yes i did change out the spark plug #6 with another new one from another store

I had the same problem, I end up having to change the Mass air sensor.. Have you tried to at least clean yours ?

Local ford dealer wanted 956.00 to change out fuel injector. I laffed
Took to a real mechanic. Found all plugs good. They r all new
Found all 8 coil on plug good. All new too
Found all injectors good. 1 on 6 new
Compression 90 on cyl 6
Should be 105-150
I bet head on cyl 6 side has hairline crack

Oh chk eng lite cyl 6 misfire still there

Any ideas ?

help .... cyl 6 misfire 07 expedition

friend had a snap on scanner tool
shows all plugs good
shows all coil on plug good and within tolerances
shows all fuel injectors good

clear code and it comes back after 40 mph or so

changed air filter
changed fuel filter
changed crank sensor
changed cam sensor

used to get 16-18 mpg now 14.1 mpg

will check compression on all cylinders next

could it be a cracked head or leaking head gasket ?
I have no extra water in oil
no extra oil in water
no extra shoot up pressure when the radiator cap is off
oil is regular color not whitish
plugs when pulled did not have discoloration on them

next idea ?
Should i get pcm reprogrammed ?

what does number six plug look like , also make sure coil is inside of boot and didnts fall out somewhere in your garage it happened to me lol and it was a ***** to diaganose i kept getting a number 3 missfire and couldnt figure it out so i was about to pull the engine apart when i took the coil off i found the spring in the boot was missing. I dont think its your head gasket but a compression test will comfirm that also check the lash adjusters it could be bad and causing loss of compresion. also on mine ive had my number 5 cylinder miss fire from a bad oxygen sencor wich was another hard one to diaganose

changed out crankshaft and camshaft sensors today
and a new fuel filter

that took 5 minutes on the sensors and 30 on that big port of the fuel filter
it was a hard one even with the disconnect wrench

cleared codes drove it
under 45 mph it was fine for 15 mintues

i went up to 65 and the light came on check engine

and all IM's were ok at that time
ANY OTHER IDEAS ?


I will pull the #6 plug and make sure its clean
and check for a spring too

and took off maf sensor and cleaned with maf sensor spray used air to blow it dry

i have all 4 o2 sensors ordered from ebay along with a compression hose to fit this spark plug hole
