I just ordered a brand new 2011 Ford Expedition Limited EL.

I want to transfer my current system to it. The speakers are the problem.

Two Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW12R’s

I saw that there are pre-made custom enclosures for Expeditions, but they are for 10’s, not 12’s.

I rather buy something already made since I am located in South Korea (no access to parts/supplies).
Any ideas?

The manual says they’re 8-5/16 deep and recommends 1.25 cu ft.

check out www.proboxrocks.com...i talked with them and they have a preloaded 10 sub for the cargo area designed to fit with the 3rd row seat up. its a vented box specifically to work with the limited air space and they claim it will beat out and sound like 2 12's...

i have 2 Kicker CVRs in my 04 eddie expedition...running 800 watts rms...i like my sound.

email them or call them...

I was trying to keep everything looking stock, without loosing cargo space in the rear.

Thats why I wanted side mounted sub enclosures.

Yea, I saw the 10" fully loaded.

Since the concept is already there for a 10", I would think that beefing it up (larger whole/cu ft) to a 12" wouldn't be too hard.

Does this sound realistic or plain stupid?

its realistic if you're creating the box yourself...it'll be an arm/leg/and ******** at a audio shop. i considered doing a fiberglass setup for the left side where the speaker is...but i think i'm going to stay with my 2-12's...

Is there any room under the seats, either 2nd or 3rd row?

I havn't seen anything for the new 2011, but I'm sure 09-10 couldn't be to far off...

you're in korea...what do you need the space for? i'd get a regular box with enough wire that will allow you to move it around in the back to load whatever you load in it. other than waiting till you get back to the states, thats all you have...
